I dunno. Only a couple places have reported it.

Watched it twice. Looks like he turned but the car didn't respond, likely because the line was shallow. Line was shallow because Hamilton was on the outside so Max could not move over. Not sure there was more he could have done. And it isn't like Lewis was within track limits himself but when has that ever been enforced against him?

Also, I wouldn't put too much stock in Andrew Benson from BBC. He is a big time Hamilton fan boy.

I'll stick with racing incident. Both were going for the corner and neither willing to let up. Hammy would have had the pass if he had backed out and undercut. Either way, he got the pass and race win a bit later.

The line was shallow which means he needed to get on the brakes sooner. He didn't because he wasn't willing to let Hamilton by no matter what. He kept that shallow line projected out past the kerb and didn't drop any speed, only adding steering lock and throttle when it was already clear he would leave the track. I don't know why people keep pretending like Verstappen made a mistake, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Absolutely disagree. You can't continue to have one specific driver make these kind of dangerous defensive maneuvers while relying on others to avoid collisions. It's dangerous, it's bad for racing, and it's bad for the sport. Mercedes is right to file a complaint because otherwise the sporting regulations are worth no more than the paper they're printed on.

It can be a very simple request for rules clarification:

"Dear FIA,

Is it now allowed to leave the bounds of the track by several car widths and force our competitors into the grass when defending a position?"

And Giovinazzi out, to be replaced by Zhou in other F1 news!

Mclaren have pretty firmly denied the Audi rumor, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Sad to see another paid driver like Zhou on the grid. Hopefully he’s quicker than Mazepin at least.

GH85Carrera 11-17-2021 08:00 AM

Audi is of course owned by the VW group, which is controlled by the Porsche and Piech families.

If they wanted to buy into a F1 team, there are cheaper teams to buy.

I understand rich people wanna be racers like Maza-spin and Zhou wanting to race. Heck Lance Stroll got dad to buy him a team. He at least is not a slug slow driver. It is sad that the money alone is enough to buy a seat. Much like countries with rich automotive history hosting a race. Think of all the fantastic cars from countries like Russia, China, Turkey, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, and Mexico and that is just the start of the list. No doubt if Monaco was trying for the first time to be a race venue it would likely never happen.

Ok, that is funny right there.

I'm still waiting for the Sudan GP

I remember walking down the stands to my seat area on the main straight which is really an earth embankment that holds in the noise. The first car that passed I could feel in my chest. Amazing, and the smell! Intoxicating

Don't worry David, he'll grow out of it, all the best drivers push the limits of what's acceptable, if they didn't they wouldn't become world champions....

Wow what a dominating qualifying session by Mercedes/Hamilton ! Just blinding quick . Max or anyone else will need some luck to win tomorrow .

URY914 11-20-2021 03:25 PM

Track is so sterile it looks fake. Like a scale model.

Gotta love the F1 BBC! Mazespin, Stroll, Lafiti, and Perez, with his backing from Carlos Slim.

Verstappen and Bottas received starting grid place penalties . Apparently they violated yellow flag for Gasly during qualifying .

That should pretty much guarantee a Hamilton victory.

rfuerst911sc 11-21-2021 04:30 AM

What a cluster $uck ! Ferrari and Mercedes both think Sainz and Bottas are starting fifth .

herr_oberst 11-21-2021 06:53 AM

Feels like George Russell is just mailing it in these days waiting until 2022

(Or, Williams has given up on 2021 and all development is being channelled to the 2022 program.)

Alonso  old dudes rock http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/clap.gif take that you young uns!

rfuerst911sc 11-21-2021 07:35 AM

^^^ It was a great run for Alonso and a good points day for Alpine . Max did the best damage control he could . Maybe wasn't the best day for Pirelli .
