I hereby pronounce the Aston Martin as the prettiest of all the 2021 cars launched so far.
I'm rooting for Seb to get some mojo back after his Ferrari adventure (slash-debacle)

The AM does look good hopefully it performs well also . Vettel has no where to go but up after last year . Time will tell if a change of scenery can snap him around .

I agree with the Aston Martin car looking good. Not sure I like the look of the merry men in their Lincoln Green driving suits, as much.
Hope Vettel does well this season, he's a likeable guy, with a good sense of humour. |

RIP to Murray Walker. 97 is a pretty good number. What a run he had. I most certainly remember him calling the races with MS/JV in the late 90s.

Lap times falling as expected . Haas drivers very close and Tsunodo (sp ? ) has good pace . As of now who really knows if anyone is showing all their cards . Hopefully Red Bull at the very least can give Mercedes a run at the top . McLaren/Alpha Tauri /Ferrari/Aston Martin nipping at their heels with Haas and Williams and Alfa Romeo not far off . Maybe ........... maybe we can have some real racing this year .

Thanks for posting the pics like that Won.
For the first time, it made me look at the differences in how the engines are integrated. It looks like Alpine and McLaren may have similar concepts based on the upper edge arc formed by the bulge. The Ferrari seems to have the largest fin area with the most compact upper packaging. Can’t wait for racing to start. |

Looking at the lap times in Bahrain, we might be up for a really exciting year. I’ve been fooled by pre-season times before though.
We have had the last year of a given rules package give some of the closest racing so we’ll see.

Is Alpha Tauri really that quick?
Not surprised about RB. And is it safe to hope that McLaren are back in the top 3? Did Ferrari produce a short wheelbase car? |

Testing
I hate to say it, but it doesn't bode well for Vettel that he's 3 secs off the pace
unless there's some fixable problem that they've not revealed. Hope things improve for him by race day. |

Some F1 folks have pointed out via studying video of Tsunodo that he was deploying DPS early on most of his runs . While that is illegal during a race it is ok to do under testing . So his speed may not be totally accurate when compared to others . Not saying he is not quick and Gasly say's he can feel the extra power of the Honda engine .
Like others I am hopeful that many more teams will be competitive this year but this is just testing . The engineers have data now to fine tune and adjust , let's see what the Bahrain qualifying and race look like .

can these guys sandbag during pre season, just like the IMSA boys do? i guess there is no BOP threatened as long as they are within regs.

Silly me for jumping to conclusions based on a single image from the seasons first testing. Alpine image could be for a hot day configuration.
Perhaps I made Won and Captain chuckle for the uninformed post. ![]() |

You would think the crash Kubica had in his rally car days would have ended the use of that particular type of guardrail, but there it was in Bahrain trying to kill Grosjean.
He was a lucky man to live through that, Kubica too. There must be better guard rails that are a little less dangerous? |

How much fun would it be to show up at a local track that with that thing!
Love that sound. We did once have a local driver show up in his Aston Martin V12 Zagato. That thing sounded about the same as a F1 car. It just screamed, and we all drooled on it.
