Well color me gullible and send me to the pole... I've got penguins to count

speeder 01-29-2021 09:19 PM

Even if the smoke in that stupid meme was saliva droplets, it proves that the *****tiest surgical paper mask prevents projectile spewing on Covid droplets. Which is the purpose of wearing a mask right now. No sane person thinks that Covid cannot be spread w mask wearing, look how many healthcare workers have died.

I wear 2 masks these days, a crap Chinese pseudo n95 w a cloth mask over it. I see lots of people doing the same. The outbreak in LA right now is out of control. People wearing only a surgical mask are not very protected at all.

People are so fkcing vulnerable to absolute nonsense. I don't go out because I'm afraid of unanimous ignorance and stupidity.

That has to be a dept store dummy with a pipe through the back of his head hooked up to a Hollywood smoke machine. Anyone who would even post this ought to sent to somewhere like the South Pole where they can count penguins.

And if you don't believe me, then tell me how a real person could have that much smoke to exhale and still be standing.

Cue the next propaganda meme.

did you watch the vid's?

Vape is dense stuff - not your typical cig puff.

well look at that!

BTW, healthcare workers are typically not in the 80+ year old category. Although many nursing home and personal assistants are 60+.

The thing about the virus from China, is that young people typically hardly notice when they get it - thus the whole reason for everyone who feels fine must wear a mask. - you know, because it's so dangerous you might not know that you have it. And then you get better not knowing you had it but spread it. Like the flu, but less threatening.

Hey, anybody wonder how many people they killed by spreading the flu?

rsrguy 01-30-2021 05:35 AM

I know Zeke has health concerns, it sure seems like he's made the correct decision for his situation, I'm sure he does too.

I've shared my story on parf already no need to go over it again... The short shot, I've had enough medical training to know how to wear a mask and how to handle one.... I still got it.

I don't often agree with Zeke outside of p-car tech, but we agree on this. If you can, just stay home and isolate from visitors. If you cannot and are at risk wear a full on canister respirator with bio filters - protect your self.. avoid others like... well the plague.

The mask is mostly useless. If you choose to believe in the almighty power of the mask.... Well good luck.

I went skiing yesterday at my home mountain, lots of people in line. The mountain, snow basin is making the lifties enforce masks over the nose... All the while copious clouds of vapor billowed forth from face holes... We're they enforcing the social distance....? No.. We're they putting strangers together on the chairs and in the gondola... Yes
Were they cleaning the gondola surfaces? No.

Snow Basin only cares about appearance, nothing more, it's the same with every other business. I likely contracted mine at home depot, it's no one's fault but my own, well the chicom's it's definitely the chicom's fault.

What have I learned from my experience if/when this happens again?
1.be prepared, I have bio canisters for my full face respirator.
2.be prepared, I can now survive in a shelter in place environment for 3 months, water fuel and power.
If/when this happens again can you obay a shelter at home order for 6 weeks?
3. My government does not give f-all about the truth and is too buisy playing power politics. I will keep my own
safety directives

Take care of yourselves friends, the mask, the government, no one or other thing will.

island911 01-30-2021 08:11 AM

If you are healthy enough to be a skier I seriously doubt that the Virus du China is going to cause you much harm.

Of course the risk is that you won't know that you have it, and might go tour an old folks home. (after you've kicked off the ski boots, of course)

So, even if you have no living parents, or elderly people in your life, you must still wear the face Rrrribon of solidarity. Because that is what this whole (any) mask charade has been about.

rsrguy 01-30-2021 08:37 AM

As I have said in the past, I'm fifty.... That's five-oh pounds over weight my wife is 100 over, we were fortunate.

The fact I ski means zilch to my overall health excepting my quad strength...

It is absolutely a solidarity charade.. And really that is what pisses me off the most millions have been given a false sense of safety as a result of the mask policy.

In one of the most medically advanced countries in the world we haven't seen anything from our scientific brain trust except supposition and politics... Never waste a crisis... It disgusts me, and telling people to wear a mask that doesn't work is just idiotic, it gives the population a false sense of security and gives more power to those that wield control...

The dialog should have been.. If you are afraid or at risk... stay home, not masks.
I was in the less than 5% that was wearing in Feb 2020 and I wore it all year and got it anyway, I was lucky by all accounts a 50 year old fat guy and his fat wife should have been at least hospitalized.

I believe people would be treating avoidance protocols more effectively with out a mask mandate. But I have no data, solidarity isn't a good enough reason for me to wear one, sorry and asymptomatic spread is a boogie man I won't believe in until I see solid #'s... Flame me I don't GAS!

Do I wear a mask? Yes, I wear one to ski anyway and they won't pull my pass when it's on... Does it matter, the rising infection rate would suggest it doesn't, oh well I got me mine and beat the .03 or whatever bs % odds. I just don't want you guys to have to be down for a month, because that's what it is when you factor in the lingering cough and fatigue.... The fatigue is the worst even longer than a month for many of us fat bastards...
I love you guys, even the nut job libs and I wouldn't wish this on any of you.... Not even if it was just a runny nose.... PERIOD!
Prayers to you Zeke... I hope you get vaxed soon, and I hope it doesn't hurt you.

fintstone 01-30-2021 09:47 AM

If you are at risk and can stand the isolation, your best bet is to just stay away from folks (if you have the financial ability to do so). Whether due to COVID or just cold and flu season. If at risk and cannot, you need to protect yourself. No one else can or will. Limit your exposure, wear an N95, and wash your hands.

thor66 01-30-2021 02:37 PM

That's what Howard Hughes did.

staff said no more or...................
now NO visitors period...
sucks for some..

I was seeing two masks being mocked by people with three masks looking down on those with two.

What happened to start all that?

Did someone a high oracle of "science" say something special?

gregpark 02-03-2021 02:51 PM

Wouldn't additional masks cause the air you breath to circumvent around the sides even more?

rfuerst911sc 02-03-2021 03:37 PM

I am now using 57 masks at once , I look like a rhinosorous and I have to support my head with a handcart . Apply green font as required 😁 .

Sorry just trying to lighten the mood .......... I am a mask wearer .

Rhinovirus protection? Or protection from mixed breed dogs? (Heinz 57)

pmax 02-03-2021 03:47 PM

The same argument applies against the undermasked amongst us.
