Racerbvd..
I have enjoyed reading your posts for almost 10 years since getting a nice Carrera.
All I can say is "The car was expendable and you are not."
Please recover as soon as possible and keep posting.
I think a whole lot of Porsche drivers and other sports car men and women on this site want a solid recovery.

Get well soon...

Well that really sucks but glad you are relatively OK. Get well soon and get back on the skate boards and your bmx

Evans, Marv 01-25-2021 02:43 PM

Damn Byron, it's so nice it hear you're doing relatively well. A 60 mph T-bone is horrific, and you (and we) are lucky to still be with us. Wishing you the best.

billybek 01-25-2021 02:52 PM

Holy crap man!
That is a hard lick.

Glad you are doing ok all things considered.

shinrai 01-25-2021 02:56 PM

Good to hear you'll be ok racer and it's just mechanical damage that will settle with time.
Get well soon. Get moving.

kach22i 01-25-2021 02:56 PM

Bryon, glad you made it out with only minor injuries.

Regarding: Brey-Krause bar

I was under the impression such a bar is a hazard in a street car especially with adjustable seats because in a front and or rear impact the seat can flex backwards breaking the driver's back.

Likewise for roll bars and head/back injuries when not wearing a helmet, just something hard close to you to be impacted or impaled upon.

Your T-bone side impact does seem to prove to be the exception.

Do you have an opinion on the other types of impacts and harness bar use?

By the school of hard knocks, you are now the forum expert on such matters.

Those pictures make my heart hurt. I'm so glad you came out of it relatively ok. Have a speedy recovery and take care of yourself.

Steve Viegas 01-25-2021 03:01 PM

Sorry to hear about your accident...glad you should be good. Take care.

rfuerst911sc 01-25-2021 03:07 PM

Byron so sorry for the accident but she gave her life so you could live. Good luck with the recovery .

DonDavis 01-25-2021 03:21 PM

Holy buckets!

So glad you're ok and on the mend, Bro. Byron.

Is it too soon to talk about parting out the car? I waited till page 2. :p SmileWavy

KFC911 01-25-2021 03:25 PM

LOL ... Dibs on the Brey-Krause :D

flatbutt 01-25-2021 03:26 PM

Welcome to the BTDT Survivors Club Byron! Speedy recovery.

edit: is the BK bar a roll cage?

hcoles 01-25-2021 03:29 PM

Wow, that was a big hit. I echo all what said above, sheet metal contraptions can be replaced not necessarily so in the case of body parts. Take care and glad you got into a hospital without too much of a hitch. Stay away from the COIVD wing.

stevej37 01-25-2021 03:49 PM

When the cute night nurse asks "how are you feeling?"....don't try to be tough.
Let her take care of you.

Zeke 01-25-2021 03:57 PM

Can you remember how many times you spun around? That had to be short ride on a merry-go-round.

porsche930dude 01-25-2021 03:57 PM

Ouch! glad you are doing ok. The big bolsters on the seat probably helped too even though it broke your ribs. Thats sucks it was a very cool car

Hahahahaha! Somebody had to say it!:D

Byron I’m damn glad you’re ok, and RIP to the 968. I hope you can find an early 944 or 924 to swap that 3.0 into.

Scott Douglas 01-25-2021 04:02 PM

Wow.
That hospital bed image looks way too familiar to me.
Glad you are OK and on the mend.
I'll bet my recent surgery hurt a lot less than your ribs do.
We'll try not to make you laugh for the next couple of weeks as I'm sure that will only add to the discomfort of the ribs.
Get well and follow the doc's orders.

The BK sits back, way back, cheap ones are typically a straight bar, and there lies the problem. I have one for the 924S and one for the SC and Remember I also do track events so the parts aren't just for show.

SupermanWhoa! Glad you are okay, Sir. You should recover quickly, given your very young age and healthy lifestyle.

When they did the ultrasound the tech mentioned that it had a lot of muscle mass and that is one reason that I wasn't hurt worse, but I did make it harder to do the ultrasound.

You forget i still have a few 944s and a 924S.
In a perfect world id swap everything into my old track car that got parked in 2007 due to health issues. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1611622640.jpg
