Glad you’re ok, Byron. I hope your recovery is speedy.

Sorry about your sweet 968.

MBAtarga 01-25-2021 04:17 PM

Yes - glad you came out of this without too serious of injuries!

Maybe you can find someone with something of interest for you to trade.

dar636 01-25-2021 04:19 PM

I wish you a quick and complete recovery too, that was one good looking 968...

Honestly, I have no clue, the only thing that I remember is that , I think they got me out of the car and looking down the road and seeing the 914 seat that was in the back, about 50 yards down and sitting up. Then being in the ER.

Well, I'm actually still in a ER room, they don't have any rooms available yet.

Glad you're alive!!!

The Stable Energies full roll cage in my 1984 911 Targa saved me when an idiot ran a stop sign and got me in the left front. Car was totaled, and I have had back problems ever since. Hope you are luckier.

greglepore 01-25-2021 04:33 PM

What'll trade for the remains of the 968?

Perfect transition from worry to humor.

Byron, I did a few aviation accident investigations and have a fairly good eye for what goes wrong and, in your case, what went right, in accidents.

You are a fortunate man: There is a lot going on in your pics.

Heal well, pay attention to your body and don’t rush.

Be well.

rusnak 01-25-2021 04:36 PM

Gawww-Dammm!!! I'm glad that you came out OK.

The pictures don't show how the Brey-Krause thing saved you. You should really take a lot more pictures. And with more detail than those pics. You might need them later.

URY914 01-25-2021 04:38 PM

Byron, Glad you're alright. Where did this happen?

Baz 01-25-2021 04:41 PM

Sorry to hear, Byron. I'm sure you're bummed about that well sorted 968 but tempering that with the fact you came out of it without more serious harm.

Best wishes for a full recovery, buddy....

I can't add much to what everyone else has said! Glad you're still with us and here's to your speedy recovery. >clink<.

In a perfect world id swap everything into my old track car that got parked in 2007 due to health issues.

Don’t confuse me with the facts...

What can I say? I’m a giver.

You are one of the great folks that participates in these forums. And obviously a great Porschephile.

I am so sorry this happened. I hope that your recovery is complete, hassle-free and speedy.

BK has been around for a long time. We are lucky to still have them and their many great products.

As for the 968, I am saddened. It appears you have had a great relationship with that car.

Shaun @ Tru6 01-25-2021 05:35 PM

Wow, glad you are still with us buddy! hoping for a speedy recovery and you are getting great drugs!

I'm glad you're going to be OK. Looks like a hard hit.

Z-man 01-25-2021 06:02 PM

Track safety gear - it's not just for the track!

Glad you are ok, Byron!

So - what will replace the 968? (Or is it too soon to ask??)

Mend well and quickly...

HOLY CRAP BYRON. WTF>!!! so happy you are in one piece. Have a cigar once the )2 is turned off... wow. rib injuries suck at our age... wishing you the best. FRank

WPOZZZ 01-25-2021 06:56 PM

Holy cow, Byron, glad you are alive! What hit you? The BK bar stopped the B pillar from collapsing?

unclebilly 01-25-2021 07:49 PM

Byron - I wish you a fast recovery and less pain than I’m going through 5 days post surgery.

I think the point of impact was what enabled the BK bar to keep the side of the car from buckling further. Regardless, having it made for a favourable outcome.

Best of luck with insurance on this deal.
