Yeah. I remember that wreck. Good call.

Not an actual lifesaver, but the paramedic that came along by chance after my m/c accident and stabilized my neck...

My drunk and insolent buddy.

The end of a long three day fishing (drinking) trip.

We get into the car. I am in the passenger seat. My drunk buddy starts to throw a small fit about something that results in my sitting in the back seat behind the driver.

We crash and roll at 65+ mph in the worlds worst SUV, an Isuzu Rodeo.

I am completely unscathed. Driver is the same. Drunk buddy has a broken neck and the roof caved in over his head. If he had been sitting upright he would have been a goner.

Could have been me.

Luck might've saved my life. I was drafted into the Army infantry at the height of the Vietnam war, but somehow ended up with a desk job right here in the 'States.

I never depend on luck to pull me out of a tight spot now 'cause I used up a lifetime's worth right then & there.

The seat belt laws in Alberta came into play in the late 80s. Many people, including myself didn’t wear them most of the time into the early 90s. I was going to college in Edmonton in 1993 and dropped a friend off on the way home. As he got out, he reminded me to put on my seat belt and I did.

2 minutes later at an intersection on the freeway, a bus coming the other direction turned right in front of me. My 86 Toyota came to a sudden stop very quickly as I T-Boned the bus. I walked away. The police and ambulance drivers couldn’t believe I was alive. My friend saved my life. I happened to be driving a Toyota 4x4.

I had my life saved by a snail. I was going out one day and saw a snail on the footpath and thought "You're not going to survive the day around here little fella." and picked him up and dropped him carefully over a fence onto a suitable lawn. Five minutes later a car ran a red light in front of me at high speed. If I'd been three seconds earlier the car would have got me.

So I always pick up snails of the path and the footpath. They are the good guys.

My wife. Otherwise I’d probably be in a ditch somewhere.

I was a helicopter gunship pilot in Viet Nam for 31 months. Can home without injuries. Really good pre-mission planning was my lucky charm.

Me too. Heading down a path of self destruction when my mum passed away as a teenager. Girl changed my path and my life at 17, and 35 years later, she still tingles the groin

I was putting out garage sale signs on a Friday morning when some drugged idiot ran a stop sign into the RF wheel of my 1983 Porsche 944 (we were both doing 60 mph) I was belted in, and the car did save my life, but the center console shattered my pelvis, and ribs. Every window was broken, and the frame bent.

My decision to not take my son to jr.high football Summer practice that morning saved his life.

Ok, how did a DJ save your life?

Nothing from me but my Dad took another guys watch at West Point so the guy could drive home earlier for Christmas break.

The plane my Father would have taken had he not taken the watch crashed and killed all the Cadets aboard.

They published his photo along with the other guys thinking he was aboard.

Eerie stuff.

I was about 11 years old. Walking home from school with a buddy and we had to cross a busy street (Bellaire for those of you in Houston). I wasn't paying attention and started to step into the street. My buddy, who up to this point hadn't impressed me with his awareness, grabbed me by the scruff of my shirt and threw me backwards as a car missed me by inches.

Oh yeah, I think my 997 saved me when I hit a light pole on the driver's side right in line with my head.

This was 6 years ago, and I needed 6 months off work, but fine now.
