@Eric, I had no idea you lived in Aumsville. My Mother/Step father have lived outside Turner for many years. Step father, Jim McBride, was superintendent of Cascade schools for many years.

I drove a Taycan Turbo S at the MSR Houston track this weekend. It was really impressive. There was a Porsche instructor in front of me but he picked up the pace when me and the other driver behind us seemed OK with it. It really gets around the track well. The braking was a little slower than I'm used to but I'm sure it's really capable when you're used it. Acceleration was great but not mind bending or anything.

I also drove a Panamera base which were about to get. I doesn't have the power of the 911's that were in front of me but I could easily climb up their butt in the turns.

And then there was the Carrera S. Wholly cow! What a beast! I have a new appreciation for PDK in Sport Plus. You sound like a Patrick Long without touching the shifter or paddles.

Surprising, considering they advertise a 0-60 of 2.6s? Nonetheless, sounds impressive. I'd like to drive one some day...

One of my local friends is a Tesla evangelist, and sings the praises. He drove his from Oklahoma City to San Diego. He said all he had to do was punch in the final destination, and the GPS and computers map out the route to each charging station. He used the super chargers and he siad his average stop was 15 minutes which was enough to hook up the car to the charger, go pee, pick out something to snack on or drink, and get back to the car. It would tell him he is ready, and off he went to the next stop. Usually about the time he was going to pee anyway.

He made it a two day trip for that much distance (like I did in my 85 911 when I made the same trip) and he arrived with plenty of charge, and never once felt any worry about running out of go juice.

The only real disadvantage he mentioned is way off the beaten path routes are hard in the middle of nowhere, for lack of charging stations. the American west is a large area.
