The Tiguan is based on the Jetta, iirc. The Cayenne is a serious piece of hardware. Although, as I said before, the options vary greatly with the Cayennes. The Turbos are typically highly optioned and the base models are just that - very basic. I also have a VW Syncro (tin top van) and the Cayenne is the better snow vehicle ... except for having a nice place to put on ski boots. The Syncro is an awesome ski vehicle for that. :) |

Of course, as island noted, like most...mine came heavily optioned. Heated seats and A/C in the front and back, etc. Fabulous quality/finish, with fabulous leather interior, etc. Plenty of room for large adults in back, etc. The Cayenne is pretty darned nice piece of equipment. I have not owned the VW, but it just seems a bit more utilitarian. |

Silver is unfortunately not my cup of tea for a Cayenne. If things work out with Dan's truck I'll have Joe Bob make a Carrera style Cayenne side script to break up the slab sides of silver. Black, red and blue would be my first choices. That and I'll have to get new wheels. |

My daily driver '08 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614114427.jpg F to R... Wife's daily driver '13 with stock wheels, my '08 and my black '11 Tundra. I went from having all white cars to mostly black) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614114427.jpg My wife's dirty '13 with new turbo style wheels.... I kind of want to buy a set for my '08, but I hate to pump the money into such an old daily driver. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614116303.jpg |

I like the wheels on your 08 Tim. Also wondering what lobster claws would look like on a Cayenne. They are meaty looking wheels that might fit the design of the truck. |

I had to fly to Chicago to pick up my Cayenne (found it on line with the right color, interior, etc.)...but shopping around got me a highly optioned Turbo for a lower price than a lesser optioned, normally aspirated one locally. I have added almost 15 years and about 150K miles (with few problems) since I bought it...so I am pretty happy with my pepper. It is built like a brick outhouse...which is likely why you see so many that still look nice (inside and out) with a minimal amount of care. |

On the silver, for me, there's just too much of it. My 328 is black and it does get dirty but is so pretty when clean and local carwash is $6 after 6. Can't hurt to see what a Cayenne side scrip would look like, maybe in charcoal or black. Easy to take off I imagine if too goofy. And if charcoal I would Cerakote the wheels to match. That might look nice and tie the room together. Or if no script, Cerakote charcoal wheels and door handles. That would break up the monotony. Or just the beltline trim and pillars. Anything to break up the ocean of silver. |

Titanium Grey Metallic. Hides the dirt pretty well. Interior started out Grey, but I’ve got an upgrade in progress, two toned Black/Grey. Wheels were an upgrade to the 18” Turbo wheels. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614181241.jpg |

Thanks Buddy, hope you are feeling OK! Those are not really me. |

This one is pretty cool, I like the safari look:  https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-porsche-cayenne-gts-20/ |

That does look great! I would do the script in silver or graphite but I get the pop. And it does exactly what it's supposed to do, break up the side real estate. All in all a great looking truck, thanks for posting. Dan's truck could be fun to customize. Najarian's dark grey metallic is perfect. 25 years ago I worked for a Sarkis Najarian. |

Just sold the Tundra so I definitely need something else. And while executing the transaction I realized why I need a truck. Window frame and grille restoration pics on the tailgate. I'll have to make some kind of table now if the Cayenne works out. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614300548.jpg |

Here is mine. 2004 with 240,000 miles. Bought in 05 with 10K miles. Has had the usual problems(drive shaft, coolant pipes, starter, valve body etc.) but all in all a good vehicle and very capable off road.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614349616.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1614349616.jpg |
