Woods was going "at a greater speed than normal" most likely means "faster than most who speed in that section, but not enough over 45 to be given a citation." |
Haven't seen any mention yet of another vehicle, but plausible to me that someone driving faster-than-posted who came across a slow-mover in the right lane could've overshot the pass. Especially on what looks like a downhill, off-camber, right sweeper.
I'd be interested to hear from those who know this stretch of road -- seem plausible? |
This may have been discussed above... but should he be cited for any sort of crime? If nothing else, destruction of City property (the sign) maybe tearing up some landscaping. Failure to keep control of your vehicle? It doesn't seem quite right to have that sort of serious accident and have nothing officially recorded of wrongdoing. I guess I can go run over a city sign and say it was an accident.

Keep your pants on, he may still get cited for something. It likely will be a civil violation, not criminal.

Mathew Brodrick, Rebecca Gayheart, them/they Jenner, etc the celeb list goes on and on involving real fatalities but light or no penalties. Nobody else was involved, and who doesn't love Tiger. |

Who are those guys or organization? Sadly, they are all overweight but the slightly smaller dude third to the right, front roll

Well since the Springsteen debate over his penalty it'll be interesting to see how Tiger is adjudged.

I think this highlights the worth of a good caddie to read the line and speed for you, either that or Tiger got the “Yips”.

Heard this morning they are looking into the various driver assist systems like lane departure.
Given that road there may be something to it as a contributing factor. Coupla few years back was driving a rental around the Chinese Camp / North of Sonora area, winter so there was some sleeting and slick roads. I'm one of those people that ignores lane markers when there is no one around me and will take natural lines as they come.. Anyway, the car is squirrelly as ****, really inconsistent feedback to the steering wheel which I chalked up to slick patches because of the conditions. 3rd day I realize the thing has lane departure enabled by default, turned it off, it drove "normal" The tech was incompatible with my driving style and was constantly fighting me. |
So if you put your turn signal on before changing lanes it cancels the robot?
Interesting (but I'm not interested) |

It's when you stick your arm out the window. These new cars are so smart they should know that

Can you image the lawsuit for lost wages for Tiger?

My brother runs the shop for the largest Toyota dealership in S. Florida. Has an elder woman come in complaining that her auto steering was not working correctly. ?????? After some more conversation it turns out she was under the impression that auto braking and lane departure meant she could get out on I95, take her hands off the wheel and the car would "drive itself" No Mam, that's not how any of that works. |
