Glad to see Richard is recognized by a fellow board member and friend. I doubt most of us will have that opportunity when our time comes to stay. Thank you for sharing and bump the RIP to Richard.

May we all have at least one friend to tell the world that we mattered.
Good on you Glen, Richard will indeed rest more peacefully for your friendship.

Hey Glen,
Thank you for posting this very sad news. I remember when I joined the PCA and began attending events that you and Richard were always eager to meet new members and make them feel included in the gathering (those days it was monthly breakfasts at the Golden Coral on NW Expressway). Even though I drove a ratty old 912 in desperate need of restoration the two of you made me feel welcome and encouraged me to park my Porsche with all of the other Porsches instead of off to the side away from the prettier and more expensive cars. Even through the health challenges Richard faced he always had a big smile on his face and was ready for the next autocross. God had better speed because Richard is already out in front. Grady

I recognize the username right off the bat. That is way too young and very unfortunate to have all those complications at the same time.

Richard will be missed. He was always welcoming to me, and taught me a lot about autocross in my early days. He let me stay at his house even so I didn’t have to make the long drive back home when we had events on back to back days.
Richard was one of the most creative people I’ve met. He was always photoshopping something new, but if you really talked to him you realized he was a gifted artist all around, and a talented musician as well. I remember him joking that he could have gotten a scholarship for music, but that he knew he would make any money at that so he just went to engineering school instead. He designed an incredibly cool watch for the 928 forum guys too. I remember seeing him working on the designs and figuring out how to make it look as much like the gauges in a 928 as he could. They turned out great, and I wish I’d have been in a position to buy one at the time, even though I didn’t own a 928. |

So sorry to hear this Glen. It’s hard losing good friends. Very nice post in remembrance of Richard. Condolences to both his family and yours. As has been stated numerous times, 61 is WAY too young to go.

I’m grateful that you told us what happened. I am sad when a Pelican just disappears and no-one knows what happened.
