What do you do on your birthday?

Just curious what everyone does. I know some people party it up and to others its just another day!

I was adopted at birth and the story around that isn't warm and fuzzy. None of them are really. I try and avoid my birthday.

it's just another day for me. i love myself in the most healthy way, but my b-day usually involves a great meal with my wife. usually great sushi. i'm not comfortable at a party in my honor.

its coming up. i'm thinking a steak house with a starter martini.!!!

oh, i do treat myself to a mental health day every birthday.

My 56th birthday was last Saturday (June 12). We were camping with my daughter, and our good friends about an hour away from home. I started the day off with thick cut bacon cooked over the open fire, and french toast, we then took our paddleboards, and my Kayak out for an hour or two in the morning (before it reached 91*), had a quick lunch, and an hour long nap in the heat of the afternoon.

I rode about 20 miles on my bike throughout the park roads looking at other campers, and some sketchy offroad trails.

For Dinner, we cooked up grilled chicken and steak strips over the open fire, and added onions, peppers, and seasonings in our big cast iron skillet to make some killer burritos, (add refried beans, shredded cheese, guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, and salsa.

We finished the night with several beers while playing card games, in the screen tent by the light of a lantern.....Typical camping weekend for us, but great to get out none the less.

I try to forget about my birthdays, but we usually do something nice for my wife's. Usually that means a B&B, a long hike, zip lining, etc. This time we're going out whale watching & sea food afterwards. I'm thinking next year will be a hot air baloon ride and wine tasting.

I used to take the day off and go fishing at a local creek.
Now I usually just go to work.

mostly just another day, but usually sometime near it when we can all manage, there will be a meal with the wife and kids and grandkids, maybe a couple of presents from the same.

My birthday was last Wednesday. I spent the day at work and when I got home I spent the evening cleaning house in preparation for my mom's 90th B-Day party to be held at my house. Since I've been remodeling my kitchen, the house has been a dust bowl. Hmmm, seems like we did the same thing last year (or the year before covid). Well, I was happy to see my family and we had a good weekend.

Appetizer or desert?

Inquiring minds.

Me? Pineapple upside down cake is all I ever need with good vanilla ice cream.

I am a simple man.

Often we are in Eureka Springs, Arkansas at Porsche Palooza driving the best roads in the country. The roads are smooth, curvy as hell, and just a blast at reasonable speeds.

Number 67 was Monday. After teddering a small field of hay, the wife and I drove an hour to visit with my son. After getting home, I raked the field, then we baled it and added it to the hay mow. Supper was home made pizza with red wine and birthday cake made and decorated by the wife and grand daughter. All in all, just another day.

Best
Les

I dread it every year. Not because I tick off another year, but the stress that people put themselves under hoping they do enough. I tell my girl to please not buy me something I don't want or need... that if she wants to do something, she can take me out to dinner.

Number 66 for me on Friday. Probably just go out for a nice dinner. At that age it is hard to think up new ideas or presents to get each other.
