The other guy is in Jersey so I'm safe for now.

I am going to trade my 2008 V6 with 170,000 miles for a 2014 V6 platinum edition with 63,000 miles. Getting pretty excited! took me a while to find the right one with a tow hitch, relatively low miles, panoramic moonroof and roof bars. The 08 was starting to feel like it needed new shocks, shifting got rough, small exhaust leak…time to let her go. But now I know how good those engines are. And I am also getting 5 more hp, two more gears and better gas mileage. And ventilated seats, backup camera, start-stop…all that modern stuff i don’t really need :D.

So what do you guys think of this one:

While I haven't driven a Turbo, I have driven an S and would probably agree with him, the GTS is the one to get if you want any kind of excitement while driving an SUV. I race mine around the circuit I take my 84 on and it's terribly fun. |

I've heard that they don't really drive well with a manual transmission. It's not exactly a sports car. The price is ridiculous, (though it's par for BaT), you can buy the same SUV for less than half the current bid with the Tiptronic. Which I'd prefer.

Robo calls? I gets the extended warentee call? Odd?

Im in the market also for a Cayenne...would love to purchase one from a board member. Prefer the GTS or S but willing to talk about other models.

This is sooooo tempting !!!

/\ why does that turbo have a vinyl steering wheel? (Leather was standard)
Replaced after an airbag deployment ? |
Cayenne
My son just bought a CPO 2015 Cayenne Turbo (V8) from a Porsche dealer in Tennessee. It's midnight blue with a black interior and appears to be in excellent condition. Over the last several years, this is the 3rd CPO Porsche he has purchased. He has had very good service from each of the Porsche vehicles and only had to use the CPO warranty for some relatively minor items. Buying CPO cars appears to be a really good way to own and enjoy a really nice, well equipped vehicle without much risk! Good luck with your new Pcar.

This may apply to the later Cayennes too. CPO would be a smart buy. |
Thoughts on this one ?

That /\ is a deal, Peter.
Clearly it needs some cosmetic help, but that has air suspension on an S-model. (like the GTS) |

You guys are a bad influence..
This is local and looks to be pretty nice, Thoughts? No CPO,which gives me pause but a ppi will alleviate some worry. https://sacramento.craigslist.org/ctd/d/sacramento-2008-porsche-cayenne-gts-awd/7348095745.html |

That red one on FB marketplace looks like it was ridden hard and put away wet.

So how many miles is too many ? I am looking at a couple of physically clean pepper wagons but 150-160K miles . Assuming decent maintenance records and no funny sounds/smells and test drive is good what says the collective here ?
Anything used is a crapshoot , my biggest concern would be bore scoring but I don't think the V6/V8's are as prone to bore scoring as the flat six configuration but I could be wrong . While the buy in prices are attractive a money pit could be lurking. Any advice ? |
The expensive ones are the cheap ones.
And vice-versa. |

This one caught my eye , heavily optioned . Ride height looks low but I assume this has air adjustable suspension and is set to low . Just a guess on my part .

It does say " Adjustable Suspension" so likely PASM (OE Air) - that's a must-have IMO. Yet rare in the S.
No full leather. Looks like a reasonable deal. |

I would ask how many owners and when and where. VIN checks may not tell you as much as you would like but they will tell you where it's been and when. Ask why they are selling it. Ad says every factory option. Ask what Adjustable Suspension means: ask if it has an air suspension and PASM or just an air suspension. Also PSM and PASM are two different things. Only a small fraction of Cayennes came with PASM. The height does look low. It must be in loading mode which is not a driving mode. Fun fact, I had my air suspension Cayenne all the way up today to change the oil. Left it up and when I got on the highway, really got on the gas to merge into traffic and the truck automatically went down to low mode. Hadn't seen that before since I'm never up high. Does moonroof mean the panoramic one? Or just a normal sunroof. The pano's are prone to all kinds of problems. Service history is key on a Cayenne. |

PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) controls the dampers/shocks, PSM (Porsche Stability Management) is smart traction control. |

When I was researching Cayennes, I found plenty of threads in which owners report spring suspension trucks with PASM. Here's one https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/cayenne-958/265404-pasm-not-pasm.html |
|
In case anyone is interested, I'll be getting rid of my Cayenne around November.
111K miles + whatever miles it gets til I sell. |
