Thought this was about showcasing sock choices as people "get old"

As for the socks getting old- they are so cheap these days, I can rip them putting them on new. POS socks! Year tops.

I don't keep track of how old my socks are. I just chunk on if it is thin or has a hole. Socks are cheap.

Mine last a long time. I'm not sure if it has to do with the socks that I buy or the shoes that I wear or what. I have no idea how old they are. When they wear out, I pitch them and get new ones. I can't imagine trying to repair them.

Margaret Thatcher? hahaha

That's quite the fashion statement. I do dig the monkstrap shoes.

I just buy black socks - they always match.

I have trouble buying socks big enough. All these Chinese made socks are tiny and they are strangling my feet. I'm concerned about blood flow

I tell my younger employees with attudude: "kid, don't gimme no sass. I got underwear older than you. My experience outranks yer youth".

It's not usually true, but it gets a laugh.

Make sure you always follow that up with "stay the hell off my lawn!"

Now you understand old men. You clearly know the secret handshake!

I still have the dress shoes I was wearing for my wedding. That was 29 years ago. I store a pair of thin matching dress socks in the shoe box with the shoes just to avoid going to look for them on the very rare occasion of a dress up event. So I guess I do have 29 year old socks. Those shoes and socks get very little use.

I switch them from left to right each time I wear them so they last longer.

The hardest part...is keeping them matched up. Every new pair has it's own markings.
Underwear/briefs are easy...getting thin..pitch them.

I started buying Darn Tough brand socks, apparently have a lifetime warranty, haven’t needed it, but can’t imagine shipping them back unless you had enough to space out shipping costs.

Made in Vermont, I like them. https://darntough.com/

Lately I buy a whole bunch of the same sock and use the old ones to put treatment on tires and then toss- life is too short to try and find the matching sock. Got a bunch of white athletic all the same and then enough black Darn Tough socks to get me through a work week.

The over-the-calf socks are great for cold weather.
For biking, I prefer the shorter ones to keep the legs cool.

Yep, for the short period that we road, I preferred short socks. The only other benefit around here for longer socks is protections from the sun.

Shorts and socks should be like Goldilocks - Rule #27

- How ever, they can be any color you like - as long as they match your kit
