I'll admit...I know next to nothing about swans.
My next door neighbor hates them for reasons I don't quite understand... A pair of them built a nest in the middle of a pond very near to my place. A few weeks later..he shot the eggs with his .22 to keep them from hatching. I don't understand.

Its illegal in Britain to kill a swan, a quite serious offence. Every last one of them is the property of the Queen. She is too old to go and round them up and her American granddaughter-in-law is far too self-entitled, wanted all the privileges of rank beyond her station, so she employs Swan Uppers to look after them.
