Cars with matte/pastel paint schemes. Beige, Grey, Slate, etc.

Taupe?
Cement?
Grey?
Cream?

I'm specifically talking about Grey Beige Khaki !

I have seen both Porsche and non-Porsche photos of cars with muted matte pastel.
I want to search for examples of these, but have no idea what this style is called.

Does anyone know what I am referring to?

Milky?

I know what you're talking about, nardo grey on Lamborghinis? Or like those khaki colors on new Tacoma's?

Not sure what it is but the 911 is wearing "Sport Classic Grey" - one of my all time favourite colours on a 911.

Very trendy right now. I saw a Ford Raptor yesterday in pastel beige. It was awesome and caused me to go home and look up the price.

My Harley is called Gunship Grey, I really like it. Like the picture of the Porsche, it isn't a "flat" paint.

Non-metallic.

Just non-metallic. The same non-metallic that has been used to paint automobiles since...well, since they were invented.

Don't know what it's called but I've always liked the medium grey I see on Porsches. If I were to have painting my car over again, I'd seriously consider it.

Beat me to it... saw a light blue non-metallic car with red accents in a automobile showroom... I was ooh-ahh... wife was yuck!

4 Runners come out with a new color every year. Quicksand, Cement, Cavalry Blue were the muted colors, Inferno Red and Voodoo Blue are the bright ones.

Yes, I know what you are referring to and every time I see a vehicle on the road with that kind of paint, i wonder to myself "what were they thinking when they bought that ugly POS?"

IOW I'm not much of a fan.

Personally I think flat finishes are a fad. I would consider a wrap and you peel it off around the time it gets tagged out.

Oh and don't forget the snot yellow/green!

There is a local guy who has a Z3 painted gloss army green, couldn't figure it out, never seen a BMW that color. Then I saw him pulling out of Fort MacArthur and it all made sense.

I don't think he's talking about matte paint, but maybe I'm wrong.

As Pazazu said, I think it's just non-metallic paints. I'm seeing a lot of cars in various colors like that. They remind me a little of the colors associated with diners or the 50s.

Here's a thread full of Porsches that I think are in the color that he's talking about
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-gt3rs-and-911r/863214-the-modegrau-fashion-grey-thread.html

Fashion Gray

Agate Gray

Geyser Gray

Nardo Gray

On the subject of matte paint on cars. I think I've seen 1 or 2 where I thought "that's cool." The first one that I remember was a flat/matte black 930 in an issue of Excellence. There was a thread about it on the 911 Tech board when it came out.

Now flat/matte paint is pretty old hat and boring to me since I see so many cars with it, Cadillacs (CTS-V, ATS-V) and AMG Mercedes in flat/matte are everywhere, mostly black, dark gray or silver. I did once see a matte red Dodge Challenger.

I did an image search for "matte car paint" and did see a few cars in bright colors which is a little better.

Still, I'll take my cars shiny, thanks.

Not to derail, but I love the Cayman R in green
