The Thank you Card needs to be written with a nice pen.....get someone that does calligraphy, have it delivered by a stripper with an eight ball in her bra.....

The nice phone call is all you need. It’s peer to peer. Anything more elaborate seems like sucking up to a superior.

Earlier I said a nice hand written thank you and card.

I also suggested a gift card for a local eatery.

After a little more thought I'm thinking if you know this person's beverage preference....a nice bottle of wine, spirits, or just a 12 pack or case of his fav. beer would be the best gift you could ever give. Along with the card too, of course.

Keep it simple and the impact will likely be better and you'll likely get more respect.

If he's suave and debonair...a bottle of 30 year old Scotch.

Everyone eats, not everyone drinks. I d appreciate a fine bourbon, but you never know someone’s history and it could be awkward. Unless you know the guy well enough.
