If those fail, hacksaw blade.
But remember, assembly is simply the reverse of disassembly. |
I'm going insane.

That's likely to twist on your finger.
A good layer of super glue would hold it better. :D |

I was hoping to press on the end with my thumb, but really it was for the photo. I'm at my wits end and currently looking for a tech that has done this. Curious to see what this costs me to remove two screws. I'm good with a grand at this point. 4:20 at 4/20 is coming soon!! |

If so, then figure out what kinda signal that sensor is sending/blocking, and emulate that. |

My gas grill had a similar access problem when the spark generator igniter died. I am pretty sure they started with the igniter and built the grill around it. Even if I could replace the physical button-igniter, there was no way to hook up the wires.
I finally just made a ugly bracket and added the replacement switch to the bottom of the grill. Only if you look under the grill can you see it. Is there any way to remove more of the copier to gain access to the screws? Have you looked on-line for the repair manual for that model of copier? They might have the procedure the pros have to use to replace that switch. |

Unfortunately there were too many vital parts (gears, shafts etc.) for me to drill through. |
I also have 1,000's of pages of manuals and advice from a tech.

Standard 1/4 drive ratcheting hex driver, slip in a short bit, weld the end and grind as thin as possible. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1618968113.JPG

Braze or epoxy Phillips head into a 1/4 box end wrench or glue one into a 1/4 ratcheting end wrench.

4 color copier/printers are such an enigma.
On the one hand, the engineering solutions devised to solve all the intricate tasks needed to create a print that is almost undetectable from offset is astonishing. On the other hand, manufacturing to meet a price point means that a service contract is a must. Nothing has been overlooked in the interest of saving a penny. Once the first sensor or circuit board or gear drive is roached, you need to accept that the rest of the machine already has one plastic caster in the scrap heap. |
Designers should be required to perform service before finalizing their creations.

Thanks for the tips guys.
There is not room for any of those tools. lol The screws are 1/8" away from the sensor, 1/4" away from the plate behind it, I can swing the tool maybe 1/2" and the tool can be no longer than 1" so I can swing it. Service contract is a good way to kill my profits as a small business. Senseless. |
Update.
I called in a tech. 2 of them showed up and ripped the machine apart like a fat kid on a smartie. Took them 2 hours and I'm back in business. Best $400 I've ever spent. This is the first service call I have had to put in for the 3 years since I canceled my contract. Like they say "If you are not handsome, you better be handy!". http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1619714395.jpg |
