22 ammo if you hurry

Sorry NY and Cali folks who can't order online...

For the rest of us, here's a chance to grab a brick at reasonable cost -

Direct from CCI. https://www.cci-ammunition.com/home

20 cents a round for 22LR is reasonable? That is still about 10 times what it is worth...

I gave a couple of bricks to my BIL to make room. for better ammo. like the CCI Velocitor rounds.

I think I have enough..i refuse to buy into the hoarder mentality.

I still have about 20 rolls of that CRAPPY version of toilet paper from last march lingering around. I cant wait until I run out so I can buy some Charmin. the only stuff I could find at Costco (at the time) is like State Parks campsite TP., its awful. no hoarding at my home. I don't love bulk rimfire stuff. "it doesn't bring me joy"

22’s just might be a useful barter item in the not too distant future.

$55/500 = 11c/round

Local price Dec 2019 (when I bought some last locally) was $4.89/50 plus 6.5% sales tax, so maybe a half cent cheaper per round.

Reasonable for CCI SV.

if I find myself trading ammo for food, that is next level issues. we couldn't even say, "at least its a 1st world problem". it would be a 3rd world issue.

nothing I lose sleep over. the true catastrophe that will MOST likely to hit the average American is a financial one. spending money saving up for prepper stuff is not the answer. saving up and hoarding money..that is the smart move.

having said that, I did just traded a neighbor some products of my gardening skills for 300 rounds of CCI mini mags. hahahha.. olds school plastic boxes with that cool slider lid too!! so it could happen.

Hey when the buck crashes and burns you can use those greenbacks for tp..

Dude have you noticed that Crypto is getting legitimacy..banks casinos. ..why is that? Could it be the the usd is getting shaky and people are headed for the exit..

Could be a while for Crypto to be accepted at my local grocery.

$3.99 for 50 is still too much, but better.

what's TABS yammering about again?

if we are trading bullets...either by shooting them at each other for bread, or trading a round for an aspirin, I assume infrastructure is gone. no electricity, no internet. that Crypto currency will be unreachable. dunno, I am not a prepper type. this is the most thought I've ever given it.

"sure you have some bitcoin"

back on topic. I have the oldest box of Federal ammo. downright vintage. a full brick. a brick full of those smaller bricks inside. tan box, with a squirrel on the box. I bet I got the box when I was 10, and forgot about it. I vaguely remember my dad giving me the money to buy it at a store called Gibson. I think the price tag is on the box.

I really feel sorry for the 22 caliber shooters now days, especially the 22 caliber schuetzen people as they use ammo from over seas in many cases and for the fun stuff trying to find a "brick" is nearly impossible! I bought two or three 550 round bricks a week in the 8 months leading up to the 2008 election and all the panic leading up to who would be the next president! My late daughter would shoot half a brick or more in an afternoon at the range with her pink 10/22 and just the little 10 round magazines I got her. I think I still have two dozen or more bricks and took her 10/22 out several weeks ago and they still shoot just fine. I guess I could sell them and pay off the house.....?

My "expensive" .22LR purchase was Match Grade from the CMP. I think I paid $249 or $229 for 5K rounds.

At the other end of the Spectrum, I bought several 500 round bricks for about $7 each around 2006? I still have a bunch of that. .22 LR doesn't go that fast around here.

I had planned to buy one of those conversion uppers for my black scary spoon. Never got around to it.

Funny, I don't give a hoot about 9mm, .22, .223.....I just want some cheap .30-06. We used to get it from the Civilian Marksmanship Program for nothing.
