First ride of the year
How great it was to be on the bike again. 70s today, sunny, perfect day for a first ride. No mask, left leg cramp, bike felt awesome, wind in your face again, going to be a tough hill to climb getting back in shape but definitely have fun doing it.
And now for a gin & tonic.

The tonic is good for the leg cramps, booze is an excellent muscle relaxant.
Hope that helps |

And it did for me.
Just wish I had had 3 or 4 more of them before seeing Mortal Combat.

Just got back from 37 miles including a couple steep hills- purposely went out of my way for them, yea, something is seriously wrong with me!
Only about 40 F here this morning, so a bit of bundling up; nice part is trail wasn’t packed like it gets on sunny warm days. Less than ten rides for me this year, but darn it if it doesn’t feel good to get out in the fresh air and suffer a little. Not a drinker, but there will be a pizza with my name on it in about an hour.

Rode 10 mile out with both kids, had lunch and turned back. My older boy, 15, is suffering a bit. My younger is a freaking mt goat. Likes to climb. I got em' to do this with me every Sunday for about 20miles. If only my younger boy and I go out, we try and put in 30 miles and head for the hills, and do about 7-8 miles total hill work with one long continues one for about 3 miles at our turn around point. We avg about 14 mph, slower at times because we have to wait for the older brother.

My 14 year old son and I went mountain biking on saturday.
Last year was the time when I stopped waiting for him and he now has to wait for me. Making matters worse - It was a bit chilly (40’s here), and I had just gotten my second Pfizer shot that morning. We went pretty hard for the first 25 minutes or so, and then it was “Bonk”-ville for me. What a steaming pile of junk I became. Weather here in WI has just started to get better. We had a warm snap back in march, and I was able to go out on the road bike a couple times - but by mid-May, I’m hoping that we can ride more regularly again. |

04/10/2021..... On the road again.
Made a donation to the Santa Cruz Symphony, as a thank you, we were allowed to do a few parade laps after a really good box lunch. Not allowed to go over 40MPH but it was still a thrill. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

40 mph down the corkscrew in a woody, yeah, that would be exhilarating.
Seems like 3-4 drinks would not be enough to make that movie seem good. Psilocybin maybe, made Fantasia an incredible experience.
