Made from natural gas, that certainly sounds chemeng cool.

On the other hand, "MAGNATEC ... a full synthetic engine oil with intelligent molecules..." reeks of marketing hype. I think I'll pass on that one.

I use Mobil 1 in my E46 and Shell Rotella T in my Isuzu Trooper.

BMW doesnt leak with similar mileage to your Accord. Usually change around 7500 miles.

Trooper is higher mileage. Ive heard using the Rotella will kill catalytic converters, but I've had no issues with passing emissions and valve train noise got a lot quieter. Im not a fan of "high mileage" oils.

On my high mileage vehicles I buy whatever is cheap and change it at around 3500 miles. I tend to run Harvest King oil from Rural King but they're carrying something else now so I'll probably go with Walmart oil. From what I've seen, Walmart full synthetic is supposed to be pretty good oil. I haven't read much on their dino oil.

An Accord with 170k is not something I would put expensive oil in. Maybe Amazon synthetic? Mobil1 on sale...

Great stuff, woke up the engine and it's much better than the local mechanic "store brand" no name dino oil.

Same weights but makes a difference !

Interesting. What did it to to your engine? More power or smooth idle? I jsut can't see the big change jsut with a different type of engine oil?

My 235K mile Honda Fit gets Valvoline high mileage synthetic blend from Walmart.
Never uses any and it looks clean at the 10K mile oil change.

I switched to Amazon basic full synthetic. It is made by Warren Distribution. They make rebranded oil for a lot of companies. The tests on it show it is very good.

Revs smooth and easily.

Seems lighter on the throttle as well.

I have to admit the only differences I’ve seen in oil is when I switched fro synthetic to dino in my 911 and the leaks slowed down.
Is there any correlation between static (gauge) oil pressure and the hydrodynamic pressure in the bearing?

Hmm, come to think of it, might be the air filter change, was not a pretty sight.

That makes more sense, doesn't it ?

Though the car usually runs slightly better with a fresh oil change at the FLAM.
