Does TWP make a solid stain that covers up everything? Quote:
It really looked snappy, but in a good way.

I've had good results with Penofin. They no longer sell it at Home Depot but I was able to get it at a paint store. My friend uses it on their deck at there mountain cabin that gets 10-12 feet of snow on it every year and it holds up. It's expensive at about $50 per gallon.
Below is a fence I recently built that was sealed with Penofin - I used Transparent Redwood. The fence is made of redwood other than the treated posts.

I just came from Costco and they had a toilet for $19.95. I wouldn't buy that to put dog crap in unless I could get a 4" closet arm with a flange out in the yard. Don't laugh, I've seen it and I think it's a novel idea. That's where 20 buck toilets go. Or in the garage as long as you don't take a considerable dump in it. Then you flush it 3 times. What's the point? I bet we've never had an ex plumber as a legislator. In fact, I think Political Science should be taken off the list of classes so real people go to Sacramento. |

I have a cedar deck and redwood panel fence. So I've also been through a choice of sealants. I googled woodforums and consulted woodyexpert and I finally used Australian Timber Oil Stain for my deck and Ready Seal for the fence. I sealed everything at the same time, three years ago. This year I see my deck needs renovation, in some places it is worn out. I think I'll take Ready Seal this time. First, I liked the process of applying, no stains, no preps, and second, it still looks good on the fence. I understand that it's vertical surface, however, I'll like the result better.
