Arrest using a warrant based on FR from a fake drivers license. Guy was looing at six years.

People make mistakes. It happens. It has happened to me more than once, and I have never had a cop apologize to me. They seem to get pissed off at you when they make a mistake.

If a cop says you did something and they believe the other person instead of you, the YOU have to prove that they THEY are wrong. In the interim YOU go to jail.

About 30 years ago a buddy of mine was at a local pawn shop looking to buy a 9 mm pistol. The clerk was slow to get the receipt written and my buddy was just looking at other items in the display case and suddenly two arms when under his arms and two cops lifted him up and he was going backwards in cuffs. They sat him in the back of the squad car and said his name and told him he was under arrest for bank robbery in Florida.

He started stammering he had never in his life been to Florida, there must be a mistake. They said where were you on a certain date just a few months ago. He thought about it, and said at a wedding for a life long friend, and he has photos to prove he was there and not in Florida. The cops called his friend at work, and he verified everything.

The real bank robber had the exact same name, but was only 19 and my buddy was 30 or so at the time. They took the handcuffs off, and let him go and said sorry for the mixup.

Making an apology by leo after wrongs like those mentioned above goes along way.
It's good PR assuming leo did not unnecessarily rough you up.
