Shallow Philips wrench
How many special tools does everyone have?
I'm trying to replace a sensor on a machine and I can only get my fingers in to remove 2 small phillips screws. So I need a 90 degree phillips tool to go around a corner and be as thick as my finger. It will need to behind this box (Lid is partially off as I'm trying everything and anything) Any ideas Pelican team? ![]()

A pair of needle nosed vice grips holding a phillips bit, one small turn at a time .

All too tall and I have them.
If I had a welder I was thinking of cutting a bit down and attaching a little arm to it.

It can only be 1/2" tall with a 1" arm.

Maybe this type if I cut them would be better.

I just talked to a tech with over 20 years experience and he says I'm f##cked. Non serviceable.
I'm going to order the ultra low offset bit. If that doesn't work I'll need to drill a hole and mount the sensor to the front. The wires/connection is also in behind so I have no idea how I will extend them. Thanks for listening guys. I really just needed to vent. ![]()

very interesting, thanks for posting. Hopefully, the screw(s) aren't very tight.

There is nothing that you can remove to get at it better?
How did they set the screw initially?

This set has saved my bacon a few times!
![]() Don’t know if you have any wiggle room on that 1/2”... pretty close... ![]() #1 Philip’s bit in the tool. #0 is a fraction shorter. |

Small machine screws. So they are USUALLY not too tight.
I brought my hole saws into work and was fully prepared to make an access hole (or 10) on the other side to get access. Too many vital parts getting in the way and had to abandon the idea. I think it was assembled on it's side with all the gears and shafts. Of course the sensor is at the side they started with. This is the front door of a large colour copy/print machine. Within the door is all of the toner bottles as well as hoppers with augers and a pile of gears/shafts. The sensor is in the hopper to tell you when to put another toner bottle in. Without it the machine is scrap.

[QUOTE

Cut the working end off 1/2" from the tip, plug weld the back end of it into a piece of flat stock with a hole drilled in it. Do the same on the other end, but rotate the X 45 degrees from the first one.

If I had a welder. I was thinking bubble gum. Would have to use flatstock for a handle.
I ordered the low profile screwdrivers.

You could take it somewhere...it's a 30 second job. Or slot it so it can't rotate. Or JB Weld....
