Covid got you down?

If so, be careful, and realize you're not alone... Best to reduce the booze or whatever, try to remain upbeat.

I know, right? It's darn hot! I've got to go out later, and will probably have to wear sleeves and a hat so I don't burn!

The last year has been great. I got out everyday and went for a drive since Maryland never shuttered. My wife called them my daily walkabouts.
Business is good, we figured that out right way and none of our employees got sick or lost their jobs. We actually expanded our physical footprint and upped our remote tools.

The numbers never instilled fear in me: models are not science. It was clear early on who was at risk and why.

The models were based on conjecture and superstition. And, please don't tell me the models had some magic formula that accounted for masks or distancing, just two more superstitions that the CDC denied then supported.

That said, I always wear a mask and distance: Because I am comfortable not believing in the Covid Spaghetti Monster doesn't mean I want to intrude on the true believers.

back in 7th grade, me and a few friends would gather at my friend Todd's house after school and make Spaghettios. We would melt a bag of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the Spaghettios and mix it in. After that was gone, we would take Steak-ums and take a piece of white American cheese and fold the Steak-um over it to make a little Steak-um cheese pocket!!!

This was like 1985

I recently tried both these dishes because they loomed so prominently and positively in my memory.

The result was that both these items are disgusting and not edible to me now. What a disappointment!!

so if you think these things will make you feel better during this difficult time, try something else

why am I rambling about all this? Because Seahawk used the word Spaghetti and it all came flooding back. That's how my brain works.

I've had chicken nuggets from McDonalds meet the same fate.

After years of abscence, tried, and nope.

Makes me wonder how much is the item itself changed vs my perception.

my recent experience with mcnuggets is that they have made great strides in quality since I was a kid...well, sort of. I noticed this 2 weeks ago. There is just something better about them..the outer coating was lighter and more crisp and the stuff on the inside wasnt so...not sure what the word is

However, overall, as a food product they are really disgusting

I feel awful. I feel like all the joy has been sucked out of the world.

Wish I was kidding.

I still like Spaghettios (although I'm sure my lovely wife would not buy them for me.

Steakums though... I remember when they felt like a treat, but uh... not so much any more I bet.

Your feelings are legitimate, regardless of what is causing them. There is not a lot of great news in the world lately. But remember two things; perceptions are not always the same as reality, (or they become reality), and everything is temporary. Everything.

You need to ride it out until your feelings change. They will. Take care of yourself in the meantime.

2nd Pfizer shot gave me a 36 hr headache that was the worst I've ever had.
I normally never get headaches. Had to search the local stores for something that would work.

How long did it take from the time of the shot until your headache started?

Sorry man, the only advice I can offer is to shut off the news (and maybe this forum) and go live life in a positive meaningful way that you are comfortable with. Personally we have lived life to the maximum extent possible, CV be damned, in particular for the sake of our kids. There is still a lot of joy in this world you just have to look in the right places.

HardDrive,

I get it. Find a distraction. Get outside. Do something normal.

I’ve been wrenching on crap dirt bikes for a month in the pm. Pure bliss.

The rest of my day? Dog****.

It will improve. Promise.

This sounds like a true feeling. It may be time to check it out. Sometimes stress or a chemical imbalance can reek havoc and we don't recognize it. Could be you should consider talking to someone. You're a great guy and we are counting on & want the best for you.

I know exactly what you mean. In this lockdown "blue" State, we feel like we've been robbed of a year out of our lives when we don't have all that many left. Toss in the political craziness, the civil disorder, and...well, just all of it...seems insane.

All we can do is control what we can control. And hope things improve.

Until they do improve...HANG IN THERE! In other words, don't let the bastards wear you down.
