Mixed nuts

How do you guy eat them? Grab a handful or separate them? I need to separate them and eat only one type at a time.

I eat nuts mixed, but I match up M&Ms by color and eat them in pairs.

Mixed no more. Cracked tooth with almond. Cashews and peanuts only, now.

Yeah. Cashews used to be expensive when I was a kid. So I've got it burnt into my brain that they are an absolute treat to eat. Now that they are cheaper, or I have more money or somethin', I gorge on them.

Cashews and pistachios are the last to be eaten. Hazelnuts or Brazil nuts are first, to get them out of the way for the good stuff. Then almonds and pecans.

Unsalted. Usually get a big box at Costco or Sams. That’s the snack always on my desk at work. I eat lots of them. Sometimes one at a time, or by the handful. Probably why I’m cranky so much!

Ha!

I'm surprised how inexpensive cashews are.

I like the Costco container better because they don't have hazelnuts.

I was given a 5 lb bag of shelled pistachios. Good grief they were good. Went to the company web site to get another bag. They were sold out but at $110 a bag I backed off.

Shelled pistachios! That's cheating. The only thing that slows me down eating pistachios is I have to shell them one at a time LOL

I've been eating bags of shelled pistachios since I found them at Target. Love cashews and favorite is pecans. All roasted, all heavily salted.

The rare occasion I buy mixed nuts I segregate them. Why let lesser nuts impinge on full frontal flavor of great nuts? Ahem.

Peanuts and hazelnuts are eaten last brazilnuts for a little contrast, almonds are sort of OK but boring after a few of them, cashews and pecans reign supreme.

No no no no...

You eat them down until you have a triangle of them sorted by colors. Like four brown, three red, two yellow and one green. Then you work through the colors being sure never to repeat one.

And then you relax as all is right with the world

Iran has the best pistachios and processing. California is good but the processors aren't so good.

I get the shelled pistachios from Sam's. A bag can last a few days. Not bad at $16 for 1.5 lbs.

Now, candied pecans are FOTG.

Iranian would be intriguing - where would I find some in 'merica?

New Mexico has some tasty ones from down near Alamogordo. The red chile crusted ones are mighty nice - whenever I visit colleagues in the UK I grab a few bags at the Sandia Pueblo quickie mart on the way to the airport in ABQ. It really perks up a meeting...
