Things that aren't there anymore

Do we have a thread on things that aren't there any longer? Buildings, Amusement parks, car manufacturers, etc.?

I'll start,

Blenheim Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey (I believe the site of Bally's Casino). Built in 1902, closed in 1978, demolished in 1978.

For some reason I can't find a photograph anywhere in my files or on the interwebs, but I'll go with Atlantis.

Astroworld in Houston existed when I got here in 1995, but is gone today.

Krakatoa was mostly erased off the map in 1883.

Santorini is just a tiny bit of what it once was, but that happened in the 16th century, I think.

That hotel is really something.

Lots of stuff like that is gone, and often they are replaced with crap.

Spent quite a few Sundays there. Last time was when they won the NFC Championship vs. San Fran in January 1994.

I still have an artist's rendering of it in a box somewhere.

I remember as a small child going to the Indian Lake amusement park, that was located in Russel's Point Ohio. in my 20s the only thing remaining was a rusting frame of the roller coaster, and now in my 50s, the whole area is high end condos with water access.

it's called RoundBarn. old winery or something. a wildfire came and wiped it from existence. sucked. now it will be an area of fancy homes I cant afford.

Across the river on highest point in North Augusta. Had a golf course, too. Back when Augusta-Aiken area was trying to be a winter resort.

Do a google search for 'American Steel mfg factories'.

Riverside.

Ontario.

And soon, California Speedway.

That photo of the van and the trailer at the Indian Dunes sign looks like a still from On Any Sunday!

Motor Vu drive in movie theatre, Lebanon, Oregon. Now part of a super Wal-Mart complex.

It's called "progress"...

San Francisco Playland at the Beach & The Fun House. I used to go there when I was a kid. It's condos now. I miss the rides that were, by today's standards, dangerous. Like the record player that would be crammed full of kids and we would see who could stay on the longest as it tossed kids off.

Fleishhaker Pool: I believe I went as a baby when it still had water. My only memories is when we would ride our bikes inside of it as it was empty most of the years I was growing up. This was behind the SF Zoo at the beach and was 1000 ft long, salt water pool.
