25th anniv Boxster
This is an interesting chart.
https://www.motortrend.com/cars/porsche/718-boxster/2021/porsche-boxster-25th-anniversary-1996-vs-2021-718-boxster-25-yearsedition/ Everyone always complains about how cars have gotten huge and bloated. Honestly, I don't really see that. Yes, the car is 322# heavier which is a fair amount, but considering the changes, that's not THAT much. It's less than 1.5" longer, about 3/4" wider and just over an inch shorter than the original. Those don't sound like the measurements of something that's huge compared to the original. And considering the other details, nearly double the hp and over 50% more torque. Essentially 33% faster 0-60 is crazy! The stopping performance and lateral acceleration figures are impressive for a car that's 300+# heavier. And on top of everything else, the fuel economy is essentially identical. ![]()

And the new Boxster looks better than the original one. Adjusted for inflation the old Boxster as tested price is over $110,000 so the new one is cheaper!

I test drove a Boxster when they first came out. It was slow....
I later put a 3.4L in a Boxster. Lots more fun.

I sooooo wanted this deep maroon with tan leather Boxster S around 2001, really wanted.
Until I sat in it and realized at 6'4" I was looking right through the top of the windshield frame. So I bought an 86 911 vert. |

Mine is an '08 with a 3.4. It's quite a bit of fun. I'm sure a 394hp 4.0L boxster would be a blast as well.
