no vaccine? colorado health system says sorry, you gotta die

Disclaimer:
my family and I are fully vaccinated and believe it is dumb for others not to be, but it's their decision and business:

So a woman in stage 5 renal failure needs a new kidney to save her live.
She has a qualified donor and they are ready for the life-saving surgery.

But nope, a colorado health system decides that they will not allow the surgery to be performed because she and the donor are NOT VACCINATED!
That'll teach em.
No wonder so many people don't trust the vaccine or the idiots forcing it on people.

Quote:
A Colorado woman with stage 5 renal failure is scrambling to find a new hospital to perform a kidney transplant after a health system in the state denied the transplant due to her and her donor being unvaccinated against the coronavirus.

"Here I am, willing to be a direct donor to her. It does not affect any other patient on the transplant list," Jaimee Fougner, Leilani Lutali’s kidney donor, told CBS4. "How can I sit here and allow them to murder my friend when I’ve got a perfectly good kidney and can save her life?"

Lutali said she received a letter from Colorado health system UCHealth at the end of September explaining that she and Fougner have 30 days to begin the vaccine process. They would be removed from the kidney transplant list if they refuse the shots.
Hope they got plenty of lawyers.

They are not going to waste a good organ on someone who might get Covid and die. It's happening like crazy among unvaccinated people in some parts of the country. Sad deal, still.

Yes, I get that, but at the same time, this is not the case of a person dying with a matching blood type, and she was next on the list.

This is a person who has said "I'm a match to that woman, and I'll donate one of my kidneys to that woman." THis is one living person gifting another living person with an organ, not a random organ from an accident victim. It's not like the donor has said "I've got a good kidney, it's up for grabs. This is a very specific donation from one person to another or no donation is happening. In this circumstance, it is a little bizarre.

I was friends with a couple, the husband had issues. The wife donated an organ to him. Presumably, if they were in the same position, the hospital wouldn't perform the transplant.

I'm pretty sure hospitals are loaded up on lawyers, but I have to imagine that there are 1000 lawyers chomping at the bit to take this on.

That shouldn't happen. Vaccinated or not the transplant should go on if a donor is available.

One could get into a car accident and die on the way to the hospital. Wonderful logic.

You Sir are a disgraceful human being. You want someone to die becuase you disagree with them politically . The not so subtle garbage and hate that spews from you is sickening. You are truly scum of the human race. I bet your mom is proud of you.

They don't want unvaxxed patients in the surgery ward infecting other patients.
State run hospital makes its own rules. Because freedom.

What are the odds of that happening? (Odds of getting COVID and dying).
Idk how organ transplants work, tho.
I assume smokers, drinkers, overweight, etc. don’t get organs wasted on them?

How would an unvaxxed patient who doesn’t have COVID (ie tests negative for COVID) infect other patients?

In my work I come across a lot of people on transplant lists, have had transplants or are on dialysis. About 90% of these folks' problems are self-inflicted. In fact, the only one I remember who lived a good clean life was a 19 yr. old girl. with end stage renal. But personal virtue and clean living are not how one gets to the top of the transplant list.

They get infected in the window of time between negative test and surgery. Hospitals are filled with COVID patients.
Surgery with a lung infection? They don't want that liability, and are free to deny customers because freedom

Just wait for the lawsuits when a vaccinated person has an organ failure caused by the vaccine and they get bumped to the front of the line because they did what the regime wanted them to do.

Definitely coming, probably to start as a condition for CMS funding.

If exposed, the odds of dying from Covid would be oretty good. Organ recipients are on immune supppression drugs for the rest of their lives.

Not sure how it works, but perhaps establishing immunity before having the transplant is better than having no immunity at all.

Dumbest thing ...

Apparently you don't know that transplant recipients have to be put on immunosuppression drugs to keep the body from attacking the foreign organ. People on immunosuppression drugs need to avoid even the common cold.

IOW, they are high risk for a hell of a lot more than the Chynah Virus. Even with a CV vaccine (that does not have durability) they can still be killed by the Chynah Virus.

And THEN, when the vax'd organ recipient dies from CV you will say, yeah, but they were in bad shape anyway... not the vaccines fault.

Which is why it is particularly important for people who are immunocompromised to get the Covid vaccine. That is where you were headed, right?
