I can see the government wanting to know about crops when there are subsidies. I can’t understand why they would wan a report of every minor injury to him. Employees, sure, but not the owner.

That is pretty harsh. Around here if you start messing with a water source you’d get a cease and desist order and maybe a fine.

I know, right? It's sort of like the F1 thread. 'Mericans think Brits are a bit overly dramatic, and well....they sort of can be sometimes.

Or when Jeremy was telling Kaleb all the things he can't do in London. It made my head hurt.

There’s a new season out. Liking it so far

He illustrates European-style bureaucracy very well. What an absolute pain.

Season 2 is just like season 1. I enjoyed it.

Evidently the little town is pretty upset on how he portrays them in the show. The restaurant really has them upset.

It does really make me happy I am not a farmer or a rancher.

We are watching S2 now, very good stuff. Bravo Mr. Clarkson

"Clarkson's Farm" has done more for farming than any other show.

- I'd describe it as brilliant and charming. :)

ramonesfreak 02-17-2023 07:16 PM

Watched 4 episodes tonight. Love it. But gives me anxiety. Always fantasized about being a farmer glad I’m not. What a huge pain. Seems like every day he spends $20k on something. Brilliant show though

I started watching the new season. Great show. Looks like he gave up on the sheep and started raising cattle. The show is a good illustration of the travails of farming. You are at the mercy of the weather and the market, and increasingly nowadays the ability to get equipment repaired in a timely manner.

Just finished it. Loved it. Will probably watch it again b/c some parts I missed...watching while making dinner, etc. Clarkson is brilliant on screen, as always.

Too bad he got cancelled by some snowflake.

I mean, what he said was harsh and mean, but people have done worse and they're still on TV.

Definitely enjoy the show. I do wonder if some of the "acts of stupidity" are real or planned set-ups. He could of seriously hurt himself or Caleb using the man-lift on a non-level, irregular surface. Those things will tilt and fall when extended with no chance to react.

Hopefully, he is compensating Caleb in accordance with his contributions. The kid deserves a percentage of the profits and royalty payments.

I wonder that too...the wheelie popping tractor, and hitting the telephone pole...I mean they could have been real, but easily could have been scripted.

Finished Season 2 last night. The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it and are eager for Season 3 if the Cancellation Police allow there to be one.

Certainly seems as though the Council has an issue with his plans and it will be interesting to watch how this resolves. I get historical preservation and traffic issue but..

Perhaps Cap'n Ahab can shed some light on the rules and regs, having had experience in this area as a local.

Clarkson has said there will be a season three. I hope so. Evidently the ratings for season two have been good.

I really enjoyed the 1st season not seen the 2nd season yet

One of my neighbours knows Gerald and I was assured he talks quite clearly ;) Mrs Ahab saw him out shopping at one of our local super markets and I've seen Kaleb out driving his tractor through our nearest town

Not sure what the commercial rules and regs are but I'd imagine the villagers near his farm will be made up of a lot of retired folk or Karen's who will have nothing else to do but object. The sensible villagers will see what good all the new trade coming to his shop will have on the local area

I've met Jeremy very briefly once and don't think discrete or gently does it, are words he knows. What you see on TV was what I experienced in person. I'm sure he will have rubbed the planning councillors up the wrong way which won't have helped his cause.

Here in the USA tractors have the right of way....give way my good man!

If you binged S2 and want a little more, search youtube for an interview at the farm of Kaleb+Jeremy behind the scenes by "performance people" - 1.5 h but also enjoyable.
