Can't think of any cars I've had that I'd want back...not really.

Twice, sort of... Sold my 83SC to a good friend when I got a boxster (hey, at the time it felt right). Bought it back...backdated it, resold it later to the same guy.. It came back again recently but this time on loan/storage. I don't miss it per se, but it still feels like an old pair of jeans. I could not stall that car if I tried.

The car is unkillable, 240K miles and counting.

In 1990 I had a wrecked SC and was looking for a few parts at a bone yard they had a 74 targa that had been stolen and stripped laying on it's belly in the mud it was schite brown so that was probably appropriate. So anyway I bought and built it out of the SC added rear flairs and painted it what else? Guards red. Sold it to a guy. 2019 I get a call from guy who now wants a Boxster (smart man)
I now have a fabulous girlfriend who LOVES old targas (and old Porsche mechanics) so I trade the perfect Boxster I'm driving for this well used old targa and presto happy girlfriend happy life
I'm a lucky guy

in 1967 while in the army at ft sill. ok i spotted this 1959 bn6 austin healey in front of the visitors center. it was old english white with a sprayed on red vinyl top and interior. i have no recollection of buying the car but i did. soon after i decided to replace the original healey six cyliinder motor and non overdrive transmission with a ford 289 engine and three speed manual. drove the car until the late 70s and sold it to a guy in mooresville, n.c. life went on with family and career for the nxt umpteenth years. in 2013 i located the car in charlotte nc listed in a healey magazine listing v8 healey conversions. i could tell by the description listed that this was most likly my old car. phone number was listed as well as email. i contacted the owner but he would not sell. about a year ago i saw it pictured in a fb posting and it was in minnesota. i contacted the owner and was able to purchase it . the car over the years had been improved with rack and pinion steering, narrowed ford rear end, rewired, 5.0 motor and 5 spd transmission, cross flow radiator, new paint scheme etc. though much diffrent from my past ownership, still lots of nostagic moments associated with the car. sorry for the long post!!!

Sold our 2008 Cayman S about 4 years ago. Had 35,00kms on it. Had one of our full built 3.8 motors in (400HP), suspension mods etc. Customer who bought it wanted to move to a 718 GT4 for track use. Offered it back, so we bought it. Made the wife happy as apparently she thought is was her car when I sold it... When we bought it back it had Euro one piece GT3 seats and large Brembo BBK and an extra set of Fikse wheels, all which we sold and installed for our client during the time he owned it. Oh, and it still only has 44,000 kms on it...

Cheers

The two 911's in my son's driveway. I'm happy he's actually using the car. He drives it to work at JBLM pretty regularly.

The only car I might want back is my '67 Camaro. I really do wonder what happened to it, but the VIN doesn't show up in any search.

Memories mellow with time, so the car is probably not close to as good as I remember it, but it would be interesting to work on now that I know so much more, and to fix all the mistakes I made to it back in the day...

I’ve had so many cars, the only one I’d probably buy back is my second car, a 1980 BMW 320i that we bought new.
Alpine White over dark blue interior, 15 inch wheels, Pirelli P7s, Bilsteins and lowering springs, Blaupunkt, etc. The bee’s knees in the early and mid 80s.
In the summer of 1988 I went to Crevier BMW in So Cal to pick up some parts, and a couple saw my car in the parking lot. We started talking and they said they thought the car would be perfect for their daughter.
I was leaving for school in NY in the fall, and wouldn’t be taking it with me, so I sold it to them.
Over 20 years later, maybe around the early 2010s, I got an email out of the blue from the daughter. She said she still had the car, still in Orange County, but it sounded like it was sitting in the back of their garage and hadn’t been on the road for years.
I have a lot of great high school and college memories of that car.
It would be fun to bring it back to new condition.
Unfortunately, I’ve lost her email, I don’t remember her name and have no way of contacting her.

I'd love to get my E30 M3 back. I had converted the gearbox and diff to Euro specs, dogleg. Plus a bunch of other Evo parts.

However, I'm almost certain the guy that bought it trashed it. He told me a couple of months later that he ran to hot into a parking lot and tore off the Evo 3 splitter. So I'm betting the rest didn't last much longer.
