I hate to be a hater but lately I have hated ebay. Two weeks ago I bought a molded 3/4 heater hose. I got a 5/8 hose. Seller refunded my money but the down time is agrivating. This week I bought a starter for my 350 Chevy. Would crank 1 time out of 4. I had it on and off cleaning connections and checking voltage. Even replaced the starter switch on the column. Finally installed a "junk" starter someone gave me and it has started 11 times in a row. No more ebay parts for me.

I just checked, sadly they don't Fred. But there must be a high quality Asian parts supplier. I wonder if calling them and asking would yield anything. Can't hurt.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. It won't be going back to the original dealer as I found the oil filter on tighter than any I've ever run into when I changed the oil for the first time on it. There are a couple of Indy shops around that cater to the Acura crowd that could handle it for sure. I think my biggest problem is convincing my wife that it's worth putting a belt in, rather than trading it in 'as is' for something we would find more comfortable. She does not like the way it rides at all and hasn't ridden in it for any length of time in years.

I used to use H and A Honda on-line for oil filters, air and drain plug washers etc, but they've quit the on-line sales biz.

A friend came over earlier, a master Honda tech. Simple ac hose replacement, just needed a vacuum pump, so he came by. Easy fix. I told him about this thread, and he said check the pump bearings, rollers, tensioner, and most likely all you need is a new belt.

He said let me know when. I haven't done a timing belt job in quite some time. Can't be any harder than when you have two belts, cam, and balance shaft.

Rock Auto has an Aisin kit for less than $200. Not sure about your year TL...

It's amazing that we now have to watch out for fake OEM parts...

FCP FTW.

I have been getting all of my 330 CI parts from them.

I really hate Chinese auto/motorcycle parts. BUT, I've had good luck with Gates belts. I've used on my ATV and Snowmobile. Snowmobile has 165 HP and can be know to eat belts. Just put Gates timing belts on my Nephew's old 1200 Goldwing.

You can't use FCP for Japanese cars.
You can't buy OE branded parts for Japanese cars like Sachs, Bosch, etc.
That is exactly why he's in this mess.

Nope, no one does. It's not a thing.
Your only options are insane dealer prices or FLAPS/Ebay junk
With TB kits, you can find Japanese brands like Aisin, but this is the rare exception.

I had a 2002 Accord V-6 EX-L 4-dr and it was one of the best cars I've ever owned. 153k trouble free miles. Only reason I traded it in on the current Accord is that the trans was leaking like there was no tomorrow from all the joints of the case, not the seals for the axles. Still shifted like new but my wife was worried the trans would go bad and leave us with a worthless car. I spent a lot of time in that car when you figure out how long my commute was over the years. When I had the belt replaced the Indy I used actually told me he'd buy the car from me when I got ready to sell it. He wanted to use it as a loaner for his shop it was so nice and shifted so well.

Not true at all, my local parts house in Glendale sells me OEM Japanese parts all the time in manufacturer's boxes. They are always some Japanese name that I've never heard of with lots of Japanese writing on the boxes. It's legit stuff.

They also ship and have awesome prices...wish I could promote them here but not sure if it's cool on Pelican's servers. Try the initials for Bright Ma Associates.

Does Pelican sell the same stuff?

Do I need to use youtube to post a video file here?

Not sure if I posted this before, but the owners manual is in showroom condition. I'm a freak for original books with cars, (especially the big collection that comes with a Porsche or Mercedes-Benz). Anyhow, for anyone else who is a manual freak:

Denis, you should buy my sister's car. The manual is in brand new condition. Never opened. Not even once. She wouldn't have even looked at it from fifty meters.

Man, that stinks. I bought my Asin kits on Rock Auto, IIRC for a Sequoia. The great thing is if a car has the belt due, you can get a big discount on the used market and replace it yourself.

That said, I went chain only as a requirement for recent car purchases. You think there is a lot of time between changes but it sneaks up on you and kills a Saturday or $1500 that you wouldn't spend on a car with a chain.
