She's going through quite an ordeal with the surgery.
But she is one tough gal....already has her next bike planned.

She has bigger balls than I do. And they are brass, for sure.

stevej37 09-29-2024 07:36 AM

She just posted this am. Showing her new bike for her next journey.
Surprising choice of bike.

stevej37 09-29-2024 08:13 AM

The bike is the same age as her.
Her next trip is 'around the whole world'

^Subscribed, finally.

stevej37 09-29-2024 12:51 PM

I don't know a lot about Yamaha's.....but isn't that blue one a two stroker?

JackDidley 09-29-2024 03:08 PM

I dont know about the 2 stroke thing but its good to see her up on 2 wheels.

stevej37 09-29-2024 03:15 PM

^^^ Agree.

I stopped the video when it showed the work sheet for the bike and it says 4 something in German.
I think it means 4 cycle. (But it's also a 4 cylinder.) It's a 1987

TimT 09-29-2024 04:18 PM

Tenere

It's a single cylinder four stroke 600cc bike..

I had a similar vintage xt-500 in the '80s

27000 miles of that flatulent exhaust is going to get old pretty quick, but certainly better power than that "Honda 90" she last rode. That poor thing got slogged, and it reinforced some very poor riding techniques from her, despite all those disperate discipline classes she took in season 4.

Hopefully not showing the reward pizza after that trek is not a foreshadowing of things to come.

JackDidley 10-06-2024 06:55 AM

New video is up.

stevej37 10-06-2024 11:16 AM

That's quite the house/shop that Moritz has there.

I hope she likes and has good luck with the bike. Not sure if I would go that route for the miles and places she is headed.

917_Langheck 10-07-2024 01:38 AM

Moritz built a good platform. Keeping the electrics and other systems dead simple will be key to success. Digging those foot pegs.

Yes, and it is time she got her ass on that bike and rides it .:D:D

stevej37 10-20-2024 04:04 PM

She's spent a month driving back and forth from Holland to Frankfort getting the bike sorted out. She could have walked into her local Honda Shop and rode out with a new bike to fit her needs on one day.

I'm not a fan of a restored bike....I see troubles. I hope I'm wrong.

I would expect carb issues more than anything. Her injected bikes were pretty reliable. They dont seem to care if you lay them on their side .

stevej37 10-21-2024 07:40 AM

And...if I understood it right, there is no gas gauge on it.
She needs one where she goes...I think.

stevej37 10-30-2024 12:51 PM

Episode 6 posted today. She's pumping them out faster now, and making good headway with the new bike.
