Interesting story, and one of the things never discussed in regular history books or movies.
Again, the USA was safe from invasion and only a remote island in Alaska was invaded by the Japanese. California has some worries about invasion and did endure some limited attacks from remote balloons. Never any real danger of an invasion in the USA and Ft. Knox was 100% safe then and still is.
