What a bummer
Knock at the door, and red and blue at 3:30 this morning. Young female nailed my car. I had just told my wife hours before that we need to get the cars off the street.
This sucks, it took two years to find this one. ![]() ![]() Her 2010 Honda Civic was on its roof, in the middle of the street. Driver was fine, claimed she fell asleep. I hope your Friday is off to a better start than mine.

The impact was left to right in the first photo?
Wow. Looks like it can be repaired. Good luck with it!

Sucky way to start your day. If she ended up on her roof you definitely got the better of that deal.

Her front right hit my front right. Control arm might be broken, can't tell about the damage on the left, but the car was moved about 25 feet backwards and into the yard. Lost my mail box too.

TL Type S
Those are great cars. Hopefully its repairable and not a write off by insurance.

G'day!

Just got back from a run to Walmart and then to get gas in the Volvo.
The number of drivers I passed who were looking at their phones and or putting on makeup while driving was astounding. I'm kind of a "live and let live" guy - but things have gotten WAAAY out of hand with the pinheads on the roads these days not paying attention to their driving. Sorry about your misfortune, Matt......

Follow your gut, Matt, on getting your cars off the street.
Sorry to see that happen. Around here, well, I don't trust the street parking at all. Neighbor had a car run into some years ago, broad daylight, no traffic. Then, a next door neighbor had their GARAGE run into by a neighbor across the street doing a u-turn. Our garages are set back from the street by at least 15-20ft too. To say people around here don't know how to drive is an understatement.

Man, all I can offer is my sympathies. That is no way to start a weekend.
Fingers crossed that it's repairable. That's a nice ride. (Edit - at least it wasn't hit by a dump truck!)

Ugh, sorry, always like that era of TL. My wife had a non S version when we met in 2014. We ended up selling it on a few years ago. It was in nice shape still with 160k on the clock. Hope it is repairable.

That sucks! Acura makes some fine cars. Have her insurance do a frame pull and a full rebuild on the front end...Take her to the cleaners!!!!

That sucks, Matt!
At least she didn't hit your house, and you guys weren't in the car when it got hit.

I think it will need to go on the rack for a proper repair. That wheel has been driven forward quite a bit. A quick tape measure check to the rear wheel will tell the story.

The hub assembly broke where it attaches to the lower frame/unibody, that rim is bent too. The mailbox got the rear end, trunk wouldn't open, driver side doesn't look too bad, but it is scraped up by the trees pretty good, driver mirror might be a goner. Passenger door was a little out of whack, but opened, when flat, it opened and shut fine. I suspect it got tweeked too much to save.
It's on its way to the body shop now. If they total it, it's going to be hard to find comps. Wifey wants the grass to grow where I usually park, not anymore. I guess it's alright, down to 7 vehicles for the time being. I liked the car, but didn't drive it much, but did yesterday. My nephew got to drive it this past weekend, that was cool. I always wanted one and bought it because the wifey's son nabbed my 2004 TL right out from under me, no discussion at all, it was his, dammit. So I one upped his arse. Oh well. Fun car.

See, your wife didn't need to move it off the street. Someone else did it for you.
Seriously, sorry to see that.

Whattaya bet insurance totals it?
My guess is you'll either have to accept whatever money you can get from a settlement and repair a totaled car (getting a branded title in the process) or you'll take the settlement, let the insurance company keep it and begin your search anew. _
