Anyone ever get mail on a Sunday? Yesterday, about the time the mail usually shows up, it was raining. Raining hard. I didn't think much of it, but I didn't check the mail yesterday either. This morning around 8:00am I could hear what sounded like the mail truck coming down the street. They usually do the opposite side of the street first, then turn around and do my side. Sure enough, a couple minutes later he was at our mailbox. I wonder if it was raining hard enough yesterday that he just said f-it, or if he had mechanical issues, or what. A couple times I've received priority mail packages on a Sunday, but never letters.

Nope never on Sunday.

The power and ruthlessness of mother nature is impressive.

Tornados and hurricanes and tsunamis and earthquakes are awe inspiring events.

Earthquakes, hurricanes and especially tsunamis make most tornadoes look wimpy. The biggest baddest meanest tornado ever with 300+ MPH winds destroyed a very small part of Norman, OK. Just a few blocks away from the destruction was full civilization. electricity, hospitals, clean water and safety. Compared to the earthquake like Northridge in California, or the tsunami in Japan, or a Hurricane like Katrina that wipes out most a major city. Tornadoes can strike almost anywhere, and cause very localized damage.

Wildfires burn massive areas. Flooding and lightning are the major killers.

Volcanoes are kinda scary, but only for people that live near them.

THis is pretty cool. The PO of my place left a short section of RR in the garage. I'm not likely to go to all of that trouble.

Jeez that was clever but not worth the effort for me.

2022 SI swimsuit issue has jumped the shark IMO, but I'm kinda shallow. It's not out yet but the advance PR is not encouraging.

I think Redbull has to much money.

A Good Evening.

Played at the Legion last evening. After most of the patrons left, I seemed to be left with a core group of Gordon Lightfoot and Stan Rogers fans. The requests were coming one after another and were right up my alley. They were singing along and tipped well.
A memorable evening.

Best
Les

I've been through a few Bahamian hurricanes and a couple of big Italian earthquakes

Seen a few water spouts, heard a large avalanche but thankfully not experienced a tsunami or tornado

It was the earthquake that unsettled me the most, think it was because it wasn't stormy weather dependent and happened with no prior warning
