How to keep dogs and cats from pooing in yard?

My rental. There are these stray dogs or cats that are really trying to help with my plant growth. My gardener only comes twice a week. I not there often, so I must go nuclear on them. Tips? Time to eat some dog meat but I do not own a gun big enough to kill them all with one shot.

You can try placing clear plastic bottles of water on your garden and lawn.

The theory is: A dog or cat wont contaminated fresh water.

Would be awesome to watch them pee in the bottles, but I doubt it is very effective.
Also, the decorative element of used plastic bottles in your yard is highly overrated

How long would it take to do this?

If it doesn't work you wasted about 8 minutes of your life finding out.

Some garden centers sell bags of " dried blood " . It is primarily used as a soil nutrient . Have heard that the smell is offensive to deer/dogs/critters . It may work but may have to be re-applied after rain .

If you can get your hands on some pee from a bich in heat. (There's one sentence I never thought I'd say)

Spray that pee a few gardens down the road, maybe a neighbor you can't stand...
Male dogs cannot resist the smell.

Smell of dog pee in your garden will attract more pee, but I guess you know that already...

I have had success sprinkling cayenne pepper powder around. They don't like to get it in their nose when they sniff around. Downside is you have to reapply it every few days. But after a while they break the habit. Works for keeping squirrels from digging up flower beds too. You can buy it in large shakers.

Blood meal. It is supposed to scare off the animals. I've tried it and it seems to work. There's other "humane' stuff you sprinkle around but it's mostly cayenne and capsaicin and doesn't seem to work for me.

At my old house I had in my bachelor days, I had a roses in a bed right around the front porch. Often the front porch smelled of roses. The a local tom cat figured it was a perfect litter box. Cat pee is NOT a pleasant odor in any amount. I tried all sorts of products and nothing really worked. I got real sick of having my front door area smelling like an litter box that had not been cleaned in a month.

I suspect the damn cat saw my doberman barking inside at the cat and he was just taunting my dog. I opened the front door and let her (my doberman) go after the cat. It jumped 10 feet straight up, and on to the top of the porch.

In the end, I put out a trap, caught that cat, and took it to the animal shelter. My front porch returned to smelling like roses, and I did not have cat crap in my rose beds anymore.

the only true way is to move into a high rise condo with no yard.

I see frequent pics of cats on lamp posts as being missing. The offending cats seem to be spirited away somehow. Cats climb fences. Dogs don't.

Dangit, I will try anything.

It has a 4' fence somehow they are getting and the tenant isn't always good about completely closing the gate

Not sure about dogs and cats but tennis balls soaked in ammonia keep the Armadillos out of my flower beds.

Put a spring or cylinder on the gate to close it automatically?

Tiger or Lion poo sprinkled around is meant to scare off cats, never tried it though
