We call them "hashis", and I use them differently than the picture on the Chinese take out package. But I can pluck an ice cube out of a cup of water and throw it across the room with mine.

Somewhere in my camp gear is a titanium spork...

What, you guys buy your chopsticks? How about making your own? Jig that uses a special handplane!

My favorite pair- snakewood; never actually have used them though. I can use chopsticks in a marginal fashion, picked up peanuts at a restaurant years ago. Pretty proud of myself.

Can you make a titanium set with that jig and plane? :D since they aren't titanium, you're probably going to need to drill them to add lightness. |
A while back, I went to a Korean noodle restaurant with my friend John. He's a denizen of the chopstick culture, and I was ashamed of myself for being such a poor citizen of the world that I needed a fork. I always need a fork. LSS, I practiced for a month with 100 coffee beans every night, out of the bowl into another bowl, in addition to using them at meals.
Sadly, I didn't get much better. Stiff little fingers, not nimble..... |

But, your point is noted. I should point out it’s even more effective if you use the cheap ones and don’t split them apart. |

Son spent the summer of 2019 in Hong Kong. Came home with these.

Carbon/titanium chop sticks for the win! |
Just hold your rice bowl right up to your mouth and start shoveling it in. That’s the proper technique, in the orient.
