Masks cut down on transmission. Prove that they don't. Nobody is saying that they are a cure all but between masking up and keeping distance I've avoided getting the virus and I've been in public the whole time.

Just look at the data. As masking went up so too did the infections.

This is not to say that masks can not have some affect, but it can be like wearing a bike helmet skydiving... chute fails but the helmet will not do enough to save you. That is, masks apparently make people feel safer than the level of safety provided.

Clearly this is not an easy concept for binary thinkers. They be all "it works or is doesn't. But everyone knows that they work. The govt wouldn't lie to us."

The unvaccinated aren't a threat to the vaccinated, they're a threat to themselves and as such we react to them to prevent an overburdening of the medical/social systems and the geometric progressions of deaths and ripple affects, before even considering the kids under 12 who CAN'T be vaxxed regardless of their parents leanings, we are "compelled" to societally save them (and us footing the bill) from themselves. This is just a small, fine point of the whole issue.

Point I'm trying to make to you is that it's not that they are themselves a threat, it's their inactions that threaten not us as persons, but our ability to enjoy a normal life.

Some have commented on the CDC's messaging. I think the messaging should be to refer to the unvaccinated as "the Infected" and vaccinated referred to as uninfected. Make long lists of places and activities that the infected are not allowed to attend because they are infected. Maybe some animation with the infected being shown with corona virus cells for heads....you get the drift.

I know infected is not totally accurate, be we are talking messaging and getting a point across.
