Stupid boat launching tricks...

Evidently there is a known algae problem and a steep pitch to the ramp.

Stupid question: Can the truck be saved since it is fresh water?

That is a lot of money going swimming.

Nope, it’s toast.

The insurance company will total that, rather quickly. People buy flooded vehicles from salvages and occasionally get them back on the road, but generally not with one that’s been totally underwater.

Even more important than that.... know your limitations .

Nothing wrong with the ramp imo and all of them can get "slippery slick" too but that's not why the truck went swimming imo.

Pure operator error ....

Duallys have a big problem with that because the 4 rear tires have enough flotation to overcome the hitch weight, and start floating. If someone has stepped out of the truck, the front tires won't keep the truck from rolling back unless it is in 4WD.

We have seen this firsthand.

I'm going to call that a fail on the part of the camera man to not realize and move while the guy was talking. I'd have liked to see what happened.

That sucks for the people that now have a boat, trailer and truck in the water.

There are many, many "boating fail" videos out there. People seem even more trouble-prone when water is involved.

Happens here in CA too. I came upon this at the local small craft harbor a while back.

That truck is smoked. With all the electronics in a truck like that, even if it wasn’t running it’ll have gremlins for the rest of its life. If it was running, it’ll have ****ed the motor and need a new one.

It might just be another one of those Toyota ad's. Five minutes later the truck fires up and drives out of the water.

One of my favorite summer past times is to go to the local boat ramp on a Saturday Morning and drink my coffee and watch.
