Suicide Squad 2
If you liked the first one, Suicide Squad 2 can go one of two ways for you. If you like the weird and absurd, SS2 turns that up to 11. Or 21. Character development is not nearly as well constructed as the first, it could have been, and what it lacks there it more than makes up for in being unpredictable and terribly fun throughout the whole movie.
Not sure if it's a dig on Marvel, but Jotunheim is in the movie. And you get a comic book. And a post credits scene. Definitely a fun fast paced movie worth seeing if you can appreciate it as a curious oddity.

I'd watch it just for Viola Davis. She was great in the first movie.

A few characters come back but don't want to spoil anything.

Hahah, I've thought the same thing a few times. He's single, but he's usually also working like a mad-man. Yeah, I've thought the same thing, "damn, that guy sees a lot of movies." I like movies, and if I had tons of time and proximity to a good theater, I might too. When I was younger, I saw a lot of movies. These days, not nearly as much as I'd like, and almost always streaming or if the DVD/BD is cheap enough.

I enjoyed the first SS. I'll eventually watch the second. I'm assuming that I won't like it as much as the first, but I'm game.

Pre-covid 5 to 9 of us would get together at least 2 Sunday nights a month for movies and then dinner, a cherished ritual for years. Of course that ended. Just recently has the gang gotten back together. Seeing Jungle Cruise again this Sunday night. Worth seeing twice.
But I see a lot of movies because it's so cheap, I love the experience of being out and about, many times have dinner with a more local friend (than the others), and I'm addicted to the huge IMAX screen and sound system in Boston. Every night I go, at least once a week, it's a mini vacation. Such a great escape. AMC A-List membership is $24 per month for 3 movies a week, every week. An IMAX movie is $21 so I joke I see movies at a profit. ![]()

suicide squad was so bad.. the only few scenes worth it were just Margo Robbie being hot and that's just not enough to do a movie.
Her outfit in this Suicide Squad 2 doesn't seem to improve on #1 so I guess it's a real sequel, eg watered down.

I loved Pete Davidson's part in the movie. A lot of good early cameos...

Just saw it... Hated#1, yet this one is ...kinda funny. Idris elba's character is very good as the "what the hell is going on here" guy... I accidentally saw the latest Fast and furious recently as an experiment and I wanted to cry at how dumb and unrealistic it was for such a popular movie. At least this one is unrealistic but fun, not taking itself seriously. Popcorn. I'm kinda worried about the fact that movies lately are almost all about superheroes, one crazier than the other - not as many smart movies for grownups like dunno, usual suspects or The martian, Bourne maybe.. It's all about bigger booms, bangs, explosions, capes and tights, guns, physics defying stunts (a fiero to take down a satellite???) without a shred of suspension of disbelief... Feels like eating McDonalds every meal...

I liked the first one, and really didn't care for this one. But like a train-wreck, I couldn't look away...

First, Heimdal not jotunheim.
The last suicide squad movie was a huge disappointment. But the new director has a good history so there is some hope. Just not in the mood for another bull**** streaming service right now. Maybe come winter.
