Motorcycle story here.
Riding my Honda 350 Scrambler....I noticed something hot between my legs.
Looked down and there were flames coming up from the carbs.

I pulled over quickly to the curb...set the kickstand down and ran to a close house.
(I had nothing to put the fire out.)

The fire dept. arrived within 10 minutes and I watched while they hosed it down.
The bike never tipped from it's stand...but the seat, all the plastic, wiring, tires were all burnt off.

I sold it as is for $50

So one Saturday morning trying to figure out what to do with it, had a brainstorm...……..the rest as they say is..............:history

I'd love to have that car (or better yet, a '65) as a project. My first car was a '65 Impala 2 door. It had been ridden hard and put away wet. I don't think any of the seats were original. It had been through at least 2 junkyard SBCs, and probably more than a couple of transmissions. When I got it, the engine was a pretty standard 350, 2bbl from '72 or '73, so relatively low compression. Fortunately, it had low gears, probably 4.11, so it was reasonably quick and fun. I'd love to have one as a project, preferably one that didn't have a ton of rust (which is pretty unlikely).

^^^^^^^^^^ Well, I drove the impala for a while but quickly became bored with stock BB 396 / Powerglide / 2:73 gears. Also, realized that the amount of rust in the body, it would need fenders, rear quarters, etc. So it was never going to be outwardly a restored original car, especially under my budget. A year later I decided to strip it, take all the high option crap out, gutted it, added a BB 454 with big solid cam, 250 Hp shot of Nitrous and 411 gears.
