The Little Things.........

Surprisingly made a nice small difference...... worth the effort and time...... I'm happy with the difference

Polished the emblem on my steering wheel, nice and clean.

My wiper blades were a mess, discolored and white-ish..... back to black nailed it, looks brands new!

My deck-lid grill was filthy and white-ish and looked beat up..... Back to Black nailed it again! I love it.... I was even thinking of buying a aftermarket grill a few guys are making and selling here...... they look great, all of them... BUT I'm keeping mine!

My shifter was gummy and filthy so I spent some time cleaning and cleaning and cleaning.... did i mention it was filthy and gummy.......
not anymore.... clean and good to go!

I think i have an illness......

or simply just ridiculous....... probably the latter.....

so Covid has allotted some down time/extra time....... i get to hang out in the garage with my sons for an hour or two pretty consistently these days...... im not complaining about that part of covid.

but i have found myself doing some silly stuff.............

yesterday......

i freaking detailed my gas cap compartment! WTF !!!!!!

although it WAS filthy with 25 years of dirt and grim and just not pretty to look at........ SO I DETAILED AND POLISHED IT...... WHAT?

Sweating the details...the way to make your car pop...

Good job.

Of all the times I've washed and waxed...I never thought of doing the gas filler compartment like that....looks real good!
I'm sure I will do it this summer.

Oh what the hell why not..........

So the wife took the boys out for the day on Sat and I was left trying to find something to do.... KINDA (i was already getting the detail products out as they were closing the SUV doors, hahahaha)

Talked to a few of the old SOCG guys about my concerns with my OCD and the pcar...... they convinced me i wasnt nutso....... so here are a few more UNSOLICTED pictures.....

Got going on the Fan and it cleans up nice.. the powder coat really makes the clean up easy with nice results.

over all the engine bay came out ok........ from a distance.

even polished the decklid Latch.... cool little details kinda pops.

opposite angle pretty good too......

just an hour or 2 makes a nice difference, all cleaned up........

That is all pretty and nice, now it is time to go drive it to get it dirty so you can clean it again.

I can honestly appreciate your super clean car, my 85 is a driver, but I keep it pretty clean. I too have detailed the filler cap area before. My fan is just the factory ugly magnesium factory finish. After 177,000 miles it has patina!

GH85carerra................ that was for Sunday! took a nice long drive early in the morning. I'm not detailing it like this for a long time....

My car is an old 1974...... it has 320K (ish) MILES not KM on it......

I've had it for almost 30 years now and I've driven it A LOT....... in my eyes its EARNED getting cleaned up a bit....... besides it keeps me busy and i enjoy the time in the garage my with my little sons.........

My fan was had a PATINA finish on it as well, until a few years ago when my alternator finally gave up, while the alternator was being rebuilt i had the fan powder coated...... glad i did.

It's not a garage queen and hasn't been babied...... there was a time i wouldnt even think of opening the decklid..... it was a mess in there...... it was shiny then too.... but shiny from oil all over the place... hahaha........

i just try and keep it clean and decompress from a hectic life while in the garage detailing.

That is really cool. 320K deserves accolades. My car only has 178,000 miles on it. I spend lots of time cleaning it, but lots more time driving it. 41 states and Canada so far.

When the local dealership introduced the new 992 they asked the local PCA region for some members to bring some air cooled 911s, and even a 996, 997, 991 to the venue.

My car represented the G model 911s. I received a lot of compliments on the car.
