Get a 3 phase disconnect installed. Get that electrician to connect your buffer/polisher.

With all the help here and in PMs and email, and after talking with the shop again and they're confirmation that it does work, I researched converters more and bought this

AR-10 Rotary Phase Converer

Given where the buffer will be in shop floor plan, it makes more sense to put this converter in the compressor room (far away from the breaker box) and then an outlet joining an outlet in the adjacent room where the buffer will be.

I like that it's a US made product and their tech support staff were very helpful.

Wait you don't have 3 phase to the building?

I have bought an american rotary 3 phase converter and it has been running great the last 2/3 years. No issues

I would do a vfd for that application though...

There is 3 phase running to the box. I don't want to string 80+ feet of wire from the breaker box to the buffer room when it's next to the 208-230V compressor room. I don't use the compressor and the buffer at the same time. So a converter in the compressor room makes sense.

Doing research, a VFD wasn't recommended for continuous all day use. I get a lot of parts to a surface level and then buff for a day or 2.

3 phase works very well wireless, as long as the router can multiplex. Screw the cables, join the 21st century!

That was my original plan before posting. I was going to use my Van de Graaff as an extender hub but Tesla said no dice.

A flux capacitor across all each of the phases would make it work!
