Pheasant. Funny man.

Milt, maybe you could have done the shoulder repair yourself. You fix up antique stuff don't you?

Just kidding! I'm not that many years behind you and don't have half of your skills.

All the best for a speedy recovery.

Les

Milt my attitude is if you wake up on the grassy side the rest is easy . Yeah we have our ups and downs and aches and pains but it beats the alternative . I think of all the men and women that have sacrificed their lives so we have the right to ***** . Because of that I try not to ***** too much . Healthy healing brother .

Well I spoke too soon. Turned into an effin sheet day. Zero steps forward, 10 steps back.

Yesterday was actually one of the crappiest days of the year for me.

I’m planning on a better one today.

Yesterday (long story that is irrelevant) I was at the emergency room of a local hospital for an X-ray after the dentist dropped my new gold crown right in the center of my throat. Gag, gulp, down it went. They wanted a x-ray to be certain it was in my stomach and not lungs. I had no issues breathing, and felt fine.

Are you going to sieve it out?
Or do you poo gold nuggets all the time and this will be no different? ;)

Until about 5 years ago, I whined a lot; about a lot. I was not a particularly chap to be around most of the time.
Shrink suggested taking some time before I get out of bed to reflect on the things that I have to be grateful for. Gave it a try and am doing it pretty much every morning these days.
Puts a positive spin on the day straight away and the minor stuff seems to not be so annoying , just blips. Major stuff just gets worked thru with an understanding that the outcome may not be what I would like but I have done my best.
I'm at an age where I don't want to waste days being pissed off.

Next time you um "go", sit and think carefully of the methods involved with that sieve process. I actually thought about the process, and the mechanics. I will take a peek and see if there is something obvious, but hell no, I ain't doing that. Life is too short for that.

All the best in your recovery. My wife had both hips replaced last year. One in January, the other in September. Hips are nothing compared to what you have been through.

The 18th was a busy day but I spent it with my friend (47 years as friends) who flew into jersey from Kauai to get her Mom ready for a big move. Several back and forth trips in the Taco gave us time to catch up. We usually have dinner at Sabines and Pascals , a really nice place in Asbury Park but it was closed so we scored some Vics pizza and then ice cream at the Lighthouse.

I was tired afterward but it was really nice to see her again.

Funny, I seem to have a lot more than 20 really good days per year.
You might attribute that to good health, happy relationship,( celebrating 45 years of marriage next month),and a good financial position.
Or maybe my standards are very low.

Best

Low standards are not a bad thing when it comes to getting happy.

I wake up some mornings after a very sound deep nights sleep and my 1st thought is 'am I alive?'

Everyday I wake up is a good day, doesn't matter what mood I'm in, what I'll be doing that day or what the weather is

Sounds like a great technique for getting through the day. Do you ever have days where you are just pissed off and in a way it feels good to be pissed off and you don’t really want to stop? I do. Probably not healthy.

OK, you’re the third person in two weeks to swallow a crown!

What the heck is going on out there?

Edit: I still have my sieve if you need it. 😂

LOL! :) I was just listening to a CE course on anxiety. Basically, the presenter stated the more one tries to repress it, the more it builds- A better approach is to embrace and understand it in context, instead developing strategies in understanding it and using it as a strength.

I feel this is exactly what you are mentioning with being pissed. Embrace the piss!!!! :D

I opted for not mining for the gold. I have a dentist appointment Monday, to take a look at getting a new one.
