If anyone is coming this way thru Salisbury, MD I have some stuff I need transported

Just throwing this out - you never know.

Friend of mine has a few boxes of stuff and some rolls of shade cloth he wants to send me. We looked at freight and holy cow costs are astronomical, so might send individually now through FedEx Ground.

But if anyone is heading to Florida via Salisbury (or nearby), and has room to bring this stuff, I'm happy to pay cash for their help getting it here.

Here's the load......comes in at about 250 lbs......mostly clothing and fabric......

Thanks!

He'd probably be going via Rt 113. If needed i can get it from Salisbury to that area for him. My house is 2 miles off 113. Salisbury would be about half hour out of his way.

Thanks for the help, guys. I don't want to inconvenience anyone, but if it works out without a lot of bother to anyone, that would be great. And as I said, I'm willing to pay for the effort.

Please keep me posted if anything develops....thanks!

Wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks doc coastline!

I'm located right off I-95 just below Daytona, so might be a popular route for transport.

You do know that if you're not in a hurry, moving vans are always taking on piggybacks or back hauls. Running a partially full truck won't produce a profit, therefore it's not hard to find shared space. It's a matter of matching your load and destination to one that is being planned already.

Brokers do this, but since you're on the left coast, IDK anyone. You might try working with a known East Coast moving company directly. Most of their long haul drivers are contract anyway, so they have a network.

If you can break it down to less than 100 lb. units, Greyhound will do it for less than FedEx.

Good to know and worth looking into.

Thanks, Milt.

I thought DHL's niche was overseas delivery. Never seen one on my street but I see a UPS and Amazon every single day. FedEx once a week.

Not sure how this will turn out, but my friend in Maryland is in touch with a company that transports kayaks....I guess these are those big ones maybe used for racing(?) and he makes runs to Florida periodically and might be able to bring me the goods.

Will let you know......

They generally deliver to the Lauderdale area so not out of the way.

FYI......got my goods today.

The kayak transport company came through.

We met at the Walmart here, which is right off I-95. Plenty of space to manuever with gas, restrooms, and food nearby as well.

Thanks to all who offered help and suggestions!
