12hrs Sebring 2022, what to do????
I am thinking of going to the 12hrs of Sebring in March.
Looked at the tickets and I see there is 4 days of stuff ending in the race on Sunday. But I cant seem to find what is going on Thursday - Saturday. Does anybody know where the full weekend schedule is, or does anyone have suggestions for a first time spectator? Thanks

At the risk of being throw rocks at, I have to ask why are you going there for ? Party ? OK... Seeing the race ? Watch it on TV. I love Sebring. I drove it each time PCA had an open date for 13 years I lived in FL. But as a spectator track, it sucks. It's so flat, you can't see anything but the roof of the cars unless you are seating on top of an RV... I've spectated there for minor series like historics racing, where you can access the one structure over the pits. But other than that, not a ton of great views from the ground... I'd do Petit Le mans instead... Ducking now...

It is an experience that you should do, at least once, it is a party like no other. There is always practice and qualifying during the week, and the Zoo in the infield, well you never know what you will see in their, Sebring Cruisers are always a spectacle. As for the Petite, it is everything stated above, but it isn't America's oldest endurance race.

That time of year is fantastic weather here in N Florida -
So a reason to throw rocks at me would be .... Come down a week before the race, enjoy the springs, rivers, and beaches then catch whatever is going on the day or so before the race and then the race itself. Also, that is middle of spring break season - you may want to book your hotel NOW |

The 12 Hours of Sebring should be a bucket list item for any race enthusiast , it is an event like no other . When the weather is nice you can have a blast there . You will do a LOT of walking . The views of the track are generally all from standing by the fence . In many cases you are about 75' from the track so you get a good sense of speed .
While the event has been tamed it is still an adult only party you don't want to bring young kids. You will see some very interesting/odd stuff especially if you are there for 4-5 days . If it rains it can be miserable I remember one year standing in water above our ankles ☹️. As already mentioned the infield " zoo " is where the party is 😁 . Parking an be very difficult to find. You better book hotel reservations now if you plan on attending , it may already be too late .

It's not the party like it used to be in the '80's but there is still a good chase to see some crazies.
As far as cars and visibly it one of the best tracks for seeing the cars. You can walk just about the entire interior perimeter of the track. |
