After 35 years putting a modern AC in the 930. And a bunch of other upgrades. Just took the 356 in for the Wilhoit 2.2 engine. Moving to south Florida after the new year. My parents both died of Covid this year. It almost killed one of my brothers, my wife and I. My parents had a bunch of money and lived like they had none. We are going to finally be able to go on trips again as my wife’s dad died a month ago at 98. She was an only child and every time we planned anything he would fall, go to er, week in the hospital a couple weeks in rehab. Over and over. Knock on wood we hope things keep on picking up steam.

Nope. Going to retire again by the end of the year (don't really need the money). Stayed on longer than planned because they begged me and because a lot of the things I built would immediately go to crap. They promised me they would backfill the vacant positions (so I could train them)--at least two of the four I was personally doing the work for. They filled one. But, no matter what I fix/do, it is not sustainable unless they provide more manpower. I have tried to protect my employees with kids at home, etc...and done the brunt of it (so they could have a decent lifestyle), but it has only resulted in higher expectations (as I am much faster/more proficient than them because I essentially built the wheel here). It will only get fixed (resources-wise) when I leave and it breaks. Best if I do so. My wife worries about the effect of the long hours. I can always find something else if I get bored (but right now, it is the only way I can get a vacation).

Some are born free. Some have freedom thrust upon them. Others simply surrender

We are spending quite a bit less, but then I "semi-retired" during Covid, mainly because my primary employer was going through some major changes I strongly disagreed with.

Also, largely because of Covid, we don't go out much and haven't traveled.
