or in "tabs" case......

started out that way, so no change required???

asking fer a friend.

and i see fint beat me to it. :)

Jeff...........

read through your last post............

I know a couple guys from work (past) who are not married and live alone........ some of the personality traits you mention are these guys to a "T".

Especially the obsessively, argumentative and stubbornly so, to the point of offending people. People just eventually stop engaging people like that who have to be, ALWAYS the smartest guy in the room.

The other thing that struck me was your comments about personality changes over time........

I have seen that in the past with people, but not frequently, UNTIL....... about a year and a half ago. I think much of the increase in this trend has been psychosis induced from the social stress of covid and all the associated incredibly bad behavior by nearly every so called "community", be they bald faced lying politicians, media talking heads, "karens", antifa layabouts, and BLM race baiting parasites.......just to name a few.

Personalities who could be relied on to argue points in a civil, even handed manner moved, measurably so, to invective, incessant, hate filled spew.......

Now we divide the country by government mandates that make previous heroes into evil people who should lose their livelihood and be denied medical care themselves.......

Is it any wonder there is anyone left who still has their marbles?

:)

Well Sir, I think I will rely upon a credible professional assessment of myself rather than than some half baked lunatic on the P Board wild ravings. My Shrink friend said that I am, "Tabs is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life":)

Did you meet your shrink friend in therapy or after consuming mushrooms?

Shrunk to mere marbles, you say? I am so sorry. Is that atrophy from lack of use or were you merely speaking figuratively?

Jeff, I seem to remember Randy and multiple names for a very long time.
Not sure that was a "change".

What did change is he likely got tickled pink at Thor66 getting called Mad Corgi, and channeled a lot more into that user name.

There could be a lot of different possibilities though.
I went through a period of working days and a half, lost a lot of health.
It did make me less social, less energy to invest in the people around me.
There's a level of investment that if I can't meet I'd rather not be out in a social setting.

The multiple names were likely to protect himself from cancellation.
Signing up with a name that could be traced to one yet loving to troll is a recipe for a second name.
Once two, why not three...

Por_sha911 10-18-2021 05:06 PM

You know, if you step back and take a good look, this entire thread has taken on the personality of Webb and Thor. THIS is what they did in all the other discussions. Its only a fitting farewell that the thread to turn in this direction.

I couldn't agree more. It's like a ppot celebration of life for Randy.

These were the ones that were attributed to him back in 2014 when he was banned for multiple screen names (before he learned to be a bit more stealthy).

Randy Webb
randywebb
RWebb
Richard Windsor
gearya
718
330
Lusso1

Seemed harmless to me. Just needed some friends...so he made them up. Hard to blame him as most folks arguing his side were pretty ineffectual...and he needed better/smarter reinforcements.

He certainly had some nads to come right back and play his multiple personality game again. I give him some credit there.

Por_sha911 10-18-2021 05:51 PM

OK, so which one of us is Webb's other alter ego? Maybe I'm Webb in deepfake.

Pelican Parts was fun for 20 years. I'll miss it. Those with massive post counts, you are the problem. For me, it started with a desire to fix our old Porsches.

Hello Matt!

It has been a while. How are things in NZ? Seems like we most recently talked about climate change. Anything new since we last heard from you? We would love to hear about it.

Yes. Most of us also came to fix our old Porsches...and still do. But, I am curious as to why anything posted in OT or PARF is a problem for you when your stated preference seems to be for the technical area. Why you would care what is posted in OT or PARF if that is not where your interest lies? It is little different than quitting a library because there were some books on the shelf that you do not care for that others like to read. You can choose which forums to open and which threads to read...or not.

We will miss you as well. Don't be a stranger.

Seems to me that those with low post counts just have not pulled their weight. Although, unlike some others, you do own a Porsche and post in the technical areas, some of the folks you complain about probably have more posts helping others in the technical forums than many here have in total posts.

Maybe people with low post counts are really the problem...as they are not really invested in the forum and feel free to fly by and crap wherever they like...doing their best to pit one group against the other. No real sense of community for them. Always calling for the banishment of others or changing things to suit their needs rather than those of the forum. Threatening to leave if their petty wishes are not granted. The "Karens" of the forum who sow the seeds of discord and find more wrong than right ...making sure everyone who disagrees is punished. Certainly not a lot of pithy contributions from that crowd in any of the forums. If one does not like a thread, they can choose not to read it. If they do not want to read the words of specific posters, they can "ignore" them. This forum offers an embarrassment of opportunities for any user to interact as they like...yet all some do is complain and try to inflict their desires on others.

yeah? Do tell; just how are Those with massive post counts the problem?

Oh wait, you can't answer that because it would increase your post count. ... and that would be BAD.... :D

Well, I for one, really Appreciate the massive post counts of Wayne, SammyG2, fintstone, tabs... They MAKE this place. Don't believe me? Go look at the subforms that have whole lot of single-digit posts. That content sucks.
