What's the deal with the high pressure fuel pump?
Charlie, make sure it has BOTH diesel-gate software recodes from the dealer/factory. The first one sort of hurt the pick-up on the CD's. The second one fixed all that.

450 HP and poor cupholders?

This is about right for my 2004 (lose the back seat and spare and you are well under 5.0 s for 0-60)....and they are a lot faster now:

ROAD AND TRACK
November, 2003

Cayenne Turbo
0-60: 5.0 s
0-100: 12.6 s
1/4: 13.4 @ 103.1 MPH
Top: 165 MPH
Brake 60 mph: 121 ft
Brake 80 mph: 215 ft
Slalom: 61.6 MPH
Skidpad: .83 G

Mine will outrun most cars towing my Trailex aluminum trailer with my old 911 on it (can't even tell it is there without looking).

Wow that's impressive fuel mileage for an all wheel drive SUV that large/heavy . I didn't realize they could return that MPG. The gas engine is a thirsty beast .

Will you be 4wheeling with the Cayenne? I wonder how it stacks up against 4Runners and Land Cruisers.

I'll be driving in snow in the Sierra. Also, I'm a geologist and my job takes me to out of the way places.

Hey let us know how it does in the snow. Are you putting on AT or MT tires? The Cayennes I’ve seen only sport aggressive highway tires.

It handles like a Porsche. Feels more like a sports car than an SUV. Even the lowly V6 I have feels like that. A V8 with air suspension even more so.

Responses appreciated. Good to see that Porsche DNA lives in the SUVs.

Mine came with wide 275/40R20...and like any particularly wide tire, they do poorly in rain or snow/ice as compared to a more narrow tire as they push more snow or water. They do pretty well in the dry/dirt. About like my 4Runner once I use the air suspension to raise it enough...but it is a bit wide for some applications (between trees or rocks). With the more narrow wheel/tire combination offered on non turbo versions, I am sure it would do quite well.

I bought a 2013 Cayenne Diesel for our family mobile/wife's car. The cayenne is incredible honestly. I bought mine with 80k miles, were almost at 100k with zero issues. I've done the oil changes and services on it. I was not a huge fan of the suspension when hitting certain type bumps on the freeway and such. I felt that it just rebounded too hard sometimes. Wished I could change the dampening or make some type of adjustment...I installed a porsche tow package in a hour yesterday. Very easy job in the garage. I recently bought a vintage 911 race car that I'll be towing. Although I have a truck that can tow, this is the better family car and will be great for road trips. I really wanted the tow hitch for mountain bikes too. I can tell you the ride is significantly better the added weight of a tow hitch. It seems they designed the vehicle with a tow hitch in mind, so without one..the spring rate is not right IMO. Anyway..congrats and cool ride man! I think you'll love it. Its the most comfortable vehicle I've owned and gets great mileage for an SUV

Because of my somewhat eclectic collection of old cars, I always get comments and questions in parking lots and such. I thought the "boring" SUV wouldn't get any attention but it gets more comments than the '50 split of Tristar. I guess people pay a lot of attention to new cars. Who knew?
