Near death experiences .

I am not trying to be an attention whore , and making posts about my own life but thought this interesting , so I will share
So , we lost a little girl to lukemia about 7 years ago, just before her 2nd birthday. She passed away in my arms 2 weeks after X mas.
It of course, tore me apart, I really struggled to deal with it, but came to grips with it, and found my way through all the different stages of grief and learned to put myself back together and moved on ,
My wife, however has never fully come back from it , and this is part of why we are in the situation we are in. She kind of quit taking care of herself , and slipped into a funk of depression , and more or less, lost her spunk for life . I cant say I blame her
Any how, as per my other thread, my wife was out for 15 minutes , cardiac arrest, last wednesday , and really did not come back to us for 3 days .
Today, she confided in my mother in law, that she was visiting with Casey , and that she now knows, that Casey moved on to heaven , and is doing fine .
I find it interesting that so many people who have died, and came back share similar stories , about feeling themselves floating out of their body , and going to the light. and or visiting with deceased relatives .
I am anxious to hear all about her experience . Unfortunately , Her pulmonary specialist tested positive for Corona, and now , we are not able to visit with her for 3 days once, she test negative twice,
She was negative today
Anybody ever have an out of body experience , or near death experience ? A few guys here , have reached out to me via pm, and told me about their own heart attacks , and health battles. I really appreciate the support
Id love to hear your stories

I was curious if your wife had such an experience. It sounds like this one will help her to feel better about your lost daughter. My heart goes out to you and your family over that- I can never know what that would be like. It would be nice to believe that such an experience is truth, but it can't be proved, and it's maybe a dream we have when near death based on our beliefs.

FF- not anywhere close to a near death experience, but your telling of how your wife was in coma in the original thread reminded me of an experience. Some elements of her coma(as you described them) rang a bell.

Probably more a "vivid dream"
When I got run over by a car a while back, I was unconscious for quite some time. It wasn't a near death experience per se (or maybe it was), but I remember, I was dreaming. I was in a damn good place, but as I awoke,I knew something was wrong and didn't want to wake up. I remember not having the energy to make it back to reality. No. Stay here. Screw reality. It was like saying "Eff' you" to the 5:00 a.m. Monday morning alarm clock. There were noises, things happening. When I finally came back, there were ambulances, paramedics, and some guy saying "his knee doesn't look right" around me. I wanted to go right back to sleep. Reality was the nightmare. The dream was far better.

So sorry for your loss of Casey and also sorry for the pain that your wife has been going through, depression is a very powerful thing, it slowly destroys your mind and body and I pray that your wife is better soon.
I am fascinated by stories like this and I thank you for sharing such a personal story. I've never had a near death experience but I have had very vivid dreams where I was talking to a deceased loved one and the dreams were like I was there, very real, and I cannot explain why. I hope that you are able to talk with your wife about her experience and hopefully, Casey assured her that everything is okay and this will allow your wife have that spark of life again, I think she will be okay.

I remember when you were going through the hardship of the loss of your daughter. I'm still sorry you & your wife had to go through that. I think Marty's comments were worth consideration. I would support your wife's experience without going overboard in that direction. It's a positive thing if she's reasurred about Casey and it can help her move on. Wishing you the best. I've never been close to anything like a near death experience, so can't really comment on that.

Fred. You are an amazing and resilient person. I think similar loss would destroy me. I am without words to convey my feelings here.

But you asked about out of body. Yes. I had one. I was 12. I was calm. I was introspective. And the weird thing is I was floating behind my body yet I was looking at my face. In other words, the geometry didn’t work as we understand it. That is all.

Be well friend. I think your wife may have received a blessing from Casey. I certainly hope so.

I was technically dead for..not sure how long...back in '85. But it was during surgery, so all I remember is blackness.

Sure can imagine how a lack of oxygen to the brain could cause some strange stuff...and who is to say some of this isn't spiritual? Certainly not me...

I have two daughters, now 25 and 20. I can't imagine how I would ever cope if I lost one of them. But I almost never got to have those two beautiful girls.

When I was 20 a pickup that I was in the back of went off the road and rolled over me. It happened on a back road in eastern Yosemite at 11 PM and I got to the hospital in Reno at 7AM. They ran me straight into surgery to repair a ruptured liver and spleen. I also had broken bones. The next day, the doctor told me he'd never seen someone with my injuries on a living body.

So how did I do it? I willed myself to stay awake all night because I knew if I closed my eyes I would never open them again. Still, I was not liking my chances. Like LWJ, I was calm, despite severe pain. Death did not scare me. I felt bad for my parents and was sad that I would never marry and have kids. But the point here is the fact that I was not afraid. That was weird.

I now say it was the worst night of my life, and also the best. Because I've lived life to the fullest and nothing ever bothers me. If something happens that should upset me, my wife asks why I'm so calm. I just shrug my shoulders and say, "Hey, I'm still alive." I'm 62 now, on my 42nd bonus year.

Fred - it was the Holy Spirit giving your wife peace by showing her that your child is in the presence of God and in His arms.....

If your wife is a believer, this will give her the comfort that all is okay and Casey wants her to take care of herself.

Probably not what you're looking for but every once in a while I get the same sensation/feeling I had when I was at a certain point in my life growing up and much younger. Like when I was still in grade school. The way things looked to "that person" at that space in time. It's certainly surreal but also nice to go back in time when life was much simpler....and we didn't think about growing older.....

Ok, here's my Near Death...

Summer 1989, I was in the Navy and my ship, USS Wisconsin was in dry dock in Philly.
I was a running a lot those days, like 6-7 miles every day.
Had my usual course I'd run, but also the distance the the main gate and back to ship was very close to exactly a mile. I'd use that on occasion to time my fastest mile. I was easily in the mid 6s those days.

Worked out in the ship's gym then went out to do my usual 6 miles but a storm was approaching.

Thought I had plenty of time to bang out a 1 mile jaunt to gate and back.

About 2/3 to the gate, lightning began striking closer and closer.

Storm was moving waaaay faster than I'd guessed. Hit the gate in 3 minutes and made my turn back. I was getting a bit nervous as lightning was even closer.

Did I mention it was Philadelphia Naval Shipyard? Lots and lots of metal. Lightning likes metal.

Any guesses? About halfway back to the ship I took an indirect hit and down I went. Docs think it hit the buidling I was next to and one of the lightning bolts fingers got me. Otherwise...well, you know.

My only only memory leading up to it is being afraid. Then, I was out and on the ground. Next thing I knew was some guy kneeling next me talking in slow motion but I couldn't hear anything. Felt like I was wrapped in a mushy bubble of time and he was rocking me to get me awake. Then, as time was returning to normal and hearing returned, I could only muster up a groan of something like "uuhhhhnnn.."

He said "Don't move, ambulance is here."

Spent 2 nights for observation. Docs said I took a hell of a jolt. No entry or burn marks tho. Weird AF, but I'll take it.

After recovery, my attitude toward life improved a great deal.

Moved west, changed careers and never looked back.

Oh yeah, the ER Doc looked at my shoes and said "Dude, nice Asics! Where'd you get those?"

In Dec.'87, my father, who was 84 at the time, fell off the tractor on to a concrete floor and the rear wheel of the Massey went over him.it gave him some serious injuries including a fractured pelvis and some extrusion of the bowel. He was in the ER within an hour and a half. Five days after the accident, I called the intensive care unit for an update. The nurse started to say she would put my mother on the phone, then said they had an emergency and hung up.
Apparently a blog clot broke from the wound site and stopped my father's heart.
Later my Dad described the incident this way. He told me he was talking to Mom and realized something was wrong. Nurses and a doctor were gathering around him. Then he said he was above the bed, looking at the people working on him. Looking over to the nurses' station, he saw a cane and knew if he could reach it, he could leave.
Then he found himself back.in bed.
He lived another ten years after that and was active into his 90s.

Best
Les

So, the night the Giants won their first in World Series in SF in 2010 wasn't good enough for you

Remarkable story, well written.

I have nothing to compare to any of the stories here other than my admiration.

Fred, this is one of those times where a third party may be of immense value for both you and your wife.

I wish you and your family the best.

That was up there. Also, "The Catch". But neither of those great moments were quite life changing.

When I was hit by a car on my bicycle in college, my left tib and fib were shattered and my food was broken.

Nothing at all like you went through, trust me I am not in any way comparing your incredible journey with my wreck.

I remember seeing my leg, asking them to be careful with my new Nike high tops. I relaxed and checked out.

But I was in the scene and unlike you not fighting for my life, oddly aware I was going to be ok...just a leg.

No dreams, no revelations or pain until I got to the hospital and they started taking the road detritus out of my back.

Wake up call.

The events related here by you and others are inspiring.
